Trivia question #2:

Who was the Civilian given the honor of firing the first Artillery round on the Fort?? And who was the commander of the confederate forces at Charleston?

I believe the civilian was Edmund Ruffin, and P.G.T. (Pierre Gustav Touissant) Beauregard was the Confederate commander.

I'm from Missouri, a slave state which didn't secede, so I'm not sure which side I should be on. Further, my choice for manager would be IMHO the best commander for either side during the war, Gen. George Henry Thomas -- a model for 20th Century command and control -- a Virginian who stayed with the Union. We border staters sure have a hard time of it.
