Only problem w/ using that "sample" team w/ the Pilots is that many of those players are on teams that will not beavailable... Bos, NYM, SF, OAK.

Remove... McCovey, Dietz, Bando, Jackson, Rico, Re Smith, Cleon of those you put on.

I like the idea, but having people choose teams as they sign up is unfair... unless there is a backside bonus for those not having their choice. Like perhaps some sort of small wieghted live draft, or making all players unused available after waivers run.

Now all that said, my choice would be the Pirates regardless of when I signed up... they are my fav's.... just looking at it from those who have to pick late in this team selection.

Also, Baltimore has a HUGE advantage over almost every team... they go into the AD not having to draft a single hitter. And worse yet, they could put their lowest $ guys on their AD (not many), and try to draft all pitchers first w/ no repercussions of losing their base players.

Novie, I really think the league will be competitive...there will be an element of luck in the autodraft that could work in the favor of some and not in others...The most important thing is that so far, we all got our favorite teams...My advise is do not join if someone has your team already....The way that I look at it is that the person that picks 12th will be happy if he/she gets their favorite team...

There are a few teams that have advantages over others like Baltimore, Atlanta, Cincinatti, Minnesota, New York Mets, Boston, New York Yankees, San Fran, Washington, St. Louis, Oakland & Pittsburgh because they are loaded with a stud or two...But some of those teams have not even been picked yet...The point of this league is to pick up your favorite team...add to it (if you are lucky in the autodraft) and manage it to contend... :D

Will give this a shot, if we are doing waivers. Any plan for division set-up?

Welcome Vince...We are doing Waivers...We can do Divisions by...

1)Teams 1-4 in the East, 5-8 in the Central, 9-12 in the West...or...
2)Teams 1, 4, 7, 10 in the East, 2, 5, 8, 11 in the Central, 3, 6, 9, 12 in the West...or...
3)By Geography...East Coast Teams in the East, Central Teams in the central and West Coast Team in the West...(For example, it looks, based on the teams that are picked so far...that the central is full...St. Louis, Cincinnati, Chicago Cubs, Detroit...of cours that could change)

I'll take a vote...7 votes win...

not overly fussy about how we do it, but I kind of like the geographical option. So that is my vote.

I'll vote for whatever gets this going fastest.

I think it would be too complicated to do it geographically with an auto-draft, since there would be a specific grouping order in joining league. I'd rather just be assigned to divisions as we come in. Since these teams will only slightly represent the actual franchises, division alignments shouldn't make as much difference IMHO.
