The posts have been many and vigorous regarding HAL and the game's engine. I am not sure on which side of the fence I fall.
As primarily a player of ATG, it certainly seems that pitching logic is different. The 200X logic dictates having a real and full set of relievers as starters in all price ranges get pulled more quickly. Both last year and this year, it is difficult to get a SP through to the late innings regardless of how well any given SP is pitching. Many times, a SP will have great game going and yet still may get pulled in the 5th, 6th or 7th innings in favor of the bullpen.
There is a definite difference in the two games but I don't know if there is an unintentional programming error. In ATG, a conservative setting and some expensive SPs will get you 8 or more innings. The same settings do not in 200x. There are alot of old-time S*8 pitchers, however. You have to pitch more than 200 innings to just to get a S*7 in 200x and most pitchers are 6 inning starters.
I always thought theses differences were intentional as TSN/SOM were going for more realism in era when the complete game is a relative rarity and specialization is the norm. In any event, SG seems thiiisss close to (a) signing up for another tour overseas, (b) a USPS-like shooting spree at the TSN offices in NYC (c) putting together an investment group to make a run at these guys, (d) quitting or (e) all of the above.
Yikes!
