What's the difference between Polo 11 & Polo 36-----Doubles, Triples, nothing? Is there any way to know or anywhere to find the information???

As far as we can officially know there is no difference. However, based on rules level I understand we are using there is a ballpark doubles and triples effect for each ballpark. I have no idea how this is implemented as it is not a feature with the cards but only an "adjustment" made in the computer game somehow.

How can you know what the doubles and triples ratings are for these two ballparks? Buy the 1911 and 1936 computer disks from stratomatic and you should then have access to this information. It should only cost about $50. :( Shame we have to go that route. But if anyone has those and is willing to post it here I am sure the community would be grateful. Perhaps if everyone posted whatever they had for various parks between everyone a complete table of ballpark ratings could be compiled.

I've used both and if you use the pitchers from their respective parks , they seem to do better than at the other . Ames did well in 11 and so so in 36. As Hubbell did well in 36 and so so in 11 .

I've heard - from a post on the boards - that '11 is more triple friendly than '36.

I can share the ratings for 1911, don't have 1936. One thing to remember is Strato does a poor job of explaining how Ballparks effect Doubles & Triples. In addition some ratings on the CD do not match TSN's ratings. So take this with a grain of salt...

Polo '11(CD) - is a righty slanted park - BP singles are LH - 1-2 & RH - 1-8 & BP HR's are LH - 1-7 & RH - 1-16

Polo '11(TSN) - is a balanced httters park - BP singles 1-7 both ways & BP HR's 1-20 both ways

Polo '11 - Doubles 1-7 & Triples 1-5 (not sure where this comes into play)

Is this a general truism, or limited in your experience to this park, and its pitchers?

Ace,

Did you ever check this with Bernie? I have never had luck with bomber teams in one of the Polo's, but I do not track it well enough to know.

Actually the Polo 11 numbers from the CD look fun, build a RH Y56 team!

sschu,

I'm not sure what you meant by check with Bernie. Did you mean on what rules are in effect in the TSN version?

You might be interested in playing the CD game in Netplay leagues. There are some leagues that are looking for some players and they are a blast. Not only do you get to see a number of different ballparks, but you get to use players like Waner, Delahanty, Sisler etc. and you don't have to worry about HAL's stupid decisions since you get to make all of the calls. Let me know if you are interested.

Ace,

Did you ever clarify the Polo discrepancy with TSN?

I would love to play Netplay, but I do not have the CDs and most importantly I do not have the time .... family, job, coaching, etc just gets in the way. :)

Txs for the offer, sschu
