2 THEME LEAGUE IDEAS...

2 THEME LEAGUE IDEAS...

Postby Ruths ruffians » Wed May 10, 2006 12:51 am

1. Thinking about doing Six Million Dollar Man League 2. It was fun and I won a ring so I really liked it. It is basically having no player over $6.99m.

2. Have to work it out but wanting to get your thoughts and interest in the following theme league:

Small Ball Teams vs Power Teams

There has been alot of good conversation about small ball vs power teams so I thought this would be a good test.

Idea is to have 6 small ball and 6 power teams with a choice of only four parks. Griffith or Forbes for small ball and Baker and we could choose one other one for a power team maybe Fenway 67. No DH, Waivers.

We would have to get a list of 12 players to make sure that we had 6 small ball teams and 6 power teams. Once we get 12 signed up, than I would buy the team and set a password.

If this sounds crazy, keep in mind that it is 10:45pm California time and my 1 year old daughter has woken up at 2:30 am the last two nights.

Anyway, checking interest at this point.

the only problem with #2 (theme that is) is that one division would have 2 power teams and two small ball teams, unless you had planned on making all the divisions two of each. Just a thought.

Are you afraid you'd get stuck in my division... Of course not. That's what your hoping for :).

I like it. I almost like the idea of 2 and 2 in each division. It give us a chance to prove to the small ball teams who's the best.

So you'd have 6 small ball and 6 power teams with no players over 6.99?

After re-reading the original post I'm more interested in the Small ball vs. Long Ball league. My understanding is that the 6.99 mil doesn't apply, right? I also think that 2 small ball and 2 long ball in each division would be the best way to go about it.

If you go with the small ball vs. long ball you can put Pepsi4dan and myself in it. We're ready to go!!! Death to the pitchers!!!!!

I would like a long ball team.

Two seperate things, leagues. One is the no player over $6.99m and the other option is the small ball vs long ball league.

The only thing I don't know is how we are assured of having the 2 and 2 in each division. Let's see, we get a list of 12 players, make sure that they are 6 small ball and 6 power teams. We restrict the options for ballparks to Griffith or Forbes for SB and Baker and Fenway 67 for power. Everyone buys their teams but how do we know that the divisions will be assigned that way?

Let's get the 6 small ball teams and the 6 long ball teams. Then we can have have two separte loto drafts, one for the small ball teams and one for the long ball teams. The highest two small ball and two highest long ball teams can be in the east. Once the east is full the password can be sent to the two next highest small ball and long ball teams to enter into the central. Once that is full we can then send it to the remaining teams to enter into the west.

So obviously someone in the east will have to start the actual league but it shouldn't be hard to make sure two small ball and two long ball enter into each division.
