should you bring carlton back in next regular start in the 4th game????
Or would he still be effected by fatigue...11 innings,5 hits,5 walks, and only 2 runs........
heck, guidry threw 162 pitches in the same game.......

That's crazy. Seems to me that he'd be fatigued if less than his 3 days of rest between starts. However, I'd probably still throw him if you're counting on him and he's one of your aces.

Playoffs, I presume?

I don't think the pitch counts affect the number of days rest required between starts. I believe they affect when a pitcher reaches his point of weakness during the game, and nothing more than that.

According to the super-advanced rest chart, a *-rated pitcher would need 4 days' rest if his previous start was more than 10 innings.

The question becomes whether a fatigued Carlton is better than the 5th starter.

The pitch count effects in-game fatigue only. It should not have a bearing on whether he is tired for his next start. If he is a *SP he can go with three days rest (4 days for non *).

The team trainer will reattach his arm in time for his next start.

According to strat's super-advanced rest chart, a "*" pitcher needs 4 days' rest when the previous start was 10 innings or more.

I don't believe that TSN is using the super advanced rest chart. In the ATGII game engine starters periodically go more than 10 innings and are still available to pitch after three days of rest. Just happened to me last week. He could be pitching his next start tired though.......

1 of his exercizes for strengthening his arm was filling a garbage can full of rice and sticking his arm in and reaching down to the bottom.they showed a feature of this on a saturday afternoon game.(back when NBC did the saturday game of the week)

thanks everybody for your input. .
