Why does Bonds have an injury roll on a 3?

Mav,

Next year if Bonds injury roll is on 7, that would only be 50 games missed (at least thats what I remember someone posting a long time ago). That doesn't even come close to simulating the real number of games Bonds missed this year.

Hack - I'm not really sure how inaccurate it is. If the card produces Bonds averaging around 147 games in SOM leagues, then it would be accurate.

As for next season, it won't matter. Bonds likley won't have enough at bats for TSN to include his card anyway.

I was more curious about what next years card would look like regardless of whether or not its included in the TSN player pool next year.

A 3-injury is a minimal injury situation. I usually get Bonds on my teams, along with the infamous injury Larry Walker and less famous Humberto Cota, and my experience is that none of my teams have been derailed in any way because of having 1-3 high injury guys. Cota is a 30 HR guy for me, which is quite an achievement considering he only hits .180 or so.

Bonds missing the occasional 3 games because of a 3/11 roll is in my opinion "fair" and plays out realistically. Whether it is consistent with other practices on other cards might only mean that they got THOSE cards wrong and did the Bonds card correctly!

hey turtle, what park did Cota put those #`s up? I got 26 hr`s from Eric Munson ( also a .180 hitter ) in around 300 ab`s at Shea- and he was 2nd in throwing out baserunners percentage-wise :)

Barry's injury roll is not inaccurate. He frequently missed a game or two throughout the season but never more than that at one time. So the 3 injury roll with 3 game limit duplicates his real life pattern exactly.

Well, then why isn't this 3-injury-roll-only-3 games-missed-max thing done for all full-time players?

Bonds IS being treated differently by SOM.

As far as treating Bonds differently, I've got a pair of questions:

1) Why can't his name be used, instead of "SF leftfielder"?

2) Why on the daily box scores is he listed as "Y.A."? What does that stand for?

He's on a team of mine, early in the season. I was psyched at a series I had coming up at Coors, and he went down with a 3 gamer just in time to miss all three games of that series! Thanks, HAL...I got swept.

Cota hit 30 dingers playing at Skydome as my full time catcher.
