Question???

Infield in,
What is the consensus on this.
If playing in Coors, is it better to leave the setting for the 5th inning considering all the hits anyway???
Or is it the opposite???

Actually to add to the previous,

What about hit and run and bunting as well for Coors.

Should they be set for conservative or extra conservative to keep the bat in the hand and not give away outs.

Relief Agressive and Closers Maximize. I get all of this confused.

My 1 1/2 cent.

I keep infield back most of the time. All the time in Coors.

H&R and bunting extra conservative. No reason to give away outs.

Agressive relief and closer maximize will depend more on the personnel you have than the park your in.

I generaly keep my infield back till the 5th on all teams including Coors. Unless I see a team that is agress at bunting (check mgr, profiles and leader boards). At Coors most of your hitters should not need to bunt or hit and run so I would go conservative and adjust each hitter individually. Say a Perez may bunt more. Usually have alot of inning eaters in pitchers parks, so I want them out there till gassed. I set them as slow hooks and normal on manager settings. IBB at a pitchers park, I go conservative or extra. Don't believe in putting guys on. Jusy my 2 pennies.

Quoting my earlier post, sorry for the repetition:[quote:a80ca96d8c]Infield in does raise the hitter's average in SOM; specifically, on a gb(X) to a fielder positioned in, 20% of the groundball outs on the chart become SINGLE**.

But, look at all the advantages infield in has (the table at the end). With bases loaded or 1st and 3rd, it saves a run (at the expense of a DP.) With men on 2nd and 3rd or just 3rd, it will save the run on a gbA to 2B or SS, and on a gbB or gbC to 2B or SS, you will get the chance to throw for the runner instead of him just scoring.

So to me, there are far more things that can go right with IF in than can go wrong. (You can also throw in the factor that a man on 3rd with fewer than 2 outs is likely to score no matter what you do, so it's not like the worst-case scenario of a SINGLE** is some tremendous disaster.) My experience is to just play the infield in every time, so I set it to 1st inning. I'm sure you could work it out mathematically, and maybe you'd come up with a different answer, but based on my board game experience and the way the game mechanics work, I wouldn't think so.[/quote:a80ca96d8c]

Generally speaking I don't like playing infield in as it increases the chance for a hit. Especially in any sort of hitter's park like Coors I *really* don't want my infield in because on defense I want as many precious outs as I can get to minimize big innings.

I'll trust my pitchers to get the out rather than give the hitter an extra chance for a hit.

But then I might rethink that if I have a team that is heavy on hitting and weak on pitching.

It would also be nice to be able to choose bunt (or h&r) only when behind by 1 run after the 7th inning.
