EPIC LEAGUE - BJS for Commisioner

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

I am willing to wait as long as I have to. I am staying in this theme because I enjoy it.

I NEVER expect to trade any players because I built my 40 man roster to restrict myself (which is always a theme in itself). That's how I choose to play this theme, and how I will continue going forward. I built my team with that in mind that I was always going to have to make do with what I had and not reach outwards to fix any issues.

I understand if others may not share my sentiments here, but that is fine.

I'd like to start soon though so as to NOT lose people in the process. I don't have some of the same concerns as YF or others as I don't track other people's rosters, only my own.

i like the league...i hope you donot misinterpret my intent when i posted earlier...i thought that we would have a chance to rebuild a struggling franchise...nobody was really dealing at the deadline to make a run except me and jablowmi and i missed. so now i am looking to rebuild but there really seems to be very little chance...no trading happening...no cut list...no place to get players to help my weaknesses... as far as tracking others rosters...somebody has to keep tabs on who has who...1 person starts the thread with all 12 rosters posted and then they can go in and edit when there is a trade. If everyone would post their current accurate roster than i will start the thread as long as trades are reported to me. I have been asking for rosters to be posted but so far only 3 have been i think.

i am fully on board...i want to see this get going...i will participate no matter what...but hope some thought is given my suggestions....i love the competition of playing against the best...the other leagues are too easy (random)

i am sticking with this BC!

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I did have the feeling that some were not so enthusiastic about the league once it got going. I think the key to enjoying this league is to be active on the trade market (unless you're Sykes). Having a bad season? -- trade some good cards to upgrade for next season. Having a good season -- most will look to pick up guys who can put them over the top, at the same time improving rosters for teams out of contention. I made, I think, 3 major trades this season. I was in contention and trying to slip into the playoffs, but the new players I acquired have made me more excited about the new season.

No one should feel obligated to stay in this league. I don't think we'd have trouble recruiting new owners. I also thought it could be an option for some to give up there team temporarily for a couple of seasons, and let someone else take the wheel, only to take the team over again in future years.

I'm going to post for a replacement for TRich. I may need help tracking his roster. But as far as I'm concerned TRich is still in, until someone else enters the league with his team.

I like the league a lot. Different decisions down the stretch depending on whether you're in or out, or, like Iceman and myself, can't decide. I think the 80s game is set up for a keeper league like this one and I hope it continues for several seasons. I'll be here.

I agree with Ice that we should make more of an effort to update our rosters on a more regular basis. In addition to posting all trades, perhaps we could update our rosters every 40 games or so.

If you replace t-rich you can move the new guy to the west and bump up the next hight winning pct.

Don't get me wrong, the theme is ok and I will be here for season two. Winning helps :)

Well I am definitely staying in, and I am always willing to go and "Steinbrenner" things to get what I want (that includes Yount ICE). It is hard not knowing the different rosters, not being the most computer literate I just use the old paper and pen. I can post mine whenever and wherever you need me to.

crossingroads is in!

Postby BC Manager » Wed May 10, 2006 10:16 pm

Crossing, go ahead and make a lineup out of the players listed above and join the league. I will PT you the password. Let us know if you have any questions.

Under the rules you are supposed to use Yankee stadium. (All teams are supposed to use the same stadium for no less than 2 consecutive years). If you want an exception made, it will have to be discussed amongst the other owners.
