Still barely won. Needed, what else? a stolen base in 10th inning to pull it out.

Last alphabetically, in last-place, but a first-rate no-no

Barry Zito gets a no-hit 1-0 victory for the last-place Wildfirez against the league's dominant offense.

For Zito, the win against Giants V was a sweet turnaround from a sour near-miss. Just 3 starts earlier, one hit separated him from a perfect game. The one hit: a solo HR. He and Zona lost 1-0.

It's the 2nd no-no of the year for the struggling Wildfirez... Doug Davis tossed a perfecto in Week 2.

How bout a 3-run dinger from Lenny Harris, and 8 shut out innings from David Weathers.

The Ubiquitous Dramatic Comeback

Postby JPGator » Sat May 13, 2006 1:46 am

Folks, check out the linescore of this game. The game is tight throughout and ends, in dramatic fashion, with a 2-out, 3-run homerun hit by Jason Ellison off of Billy Wagner in the bottom of the 9th. The game highlight, however, has to be the possibly game-saving [b:387367d2ce]TRIPLE PLAY[/b:387367d2ce][/size:387367d2ce] turned by the home team in the top of the 8th. “The opposing team had more double plays, but the home team had the more timely triple plays."

3 pitchers combine for 1 hitter in 1-0 Nail Biter

Postby ArtemusRex » Sat May 13, 2006 4:38 am

3 pitchers combine for 1 hitter in 1-0 Nail Biter. Sure this game completed a three game sweep but it was up in the air until the ninth.
