Scientific Proof HAL is a Friggin' Retard

Scientific Proof HAL is a Friggin' Retard

This team was headed straight for the tank, going nowhere, so I though I would let HAL set the lineups for one night:

The ultimate proof. He DH's Erstad, an 1e-whatever, and plays Shelton at 1B (4e12).

This just sheds a little light on these (injury etc...) replacement choices. This is bad Bern dude.

There is zero justification other than the sins of the fathers (HALs programmers) have visited upon the sons.

I remember a few quirks like this when I used to buy the CD ROM. Is this still the case CD ROM players? I don't remember HAL being this screwed up.

In a recent game I played in my e-mail league, the opposing manager forgot to set a lineup, and against a lefty pitcher, HAL started Piedra and left Nady on the bench. Even though it was a reverse lefty pitcher, that is still clearly insane. And yes, it DH'ed H. Matsui rather than Piedra or Manny, so, yeah.

bleacher_creature, I don't need to be reminded with a separate thread for each time someone feels that a bad lineup move was made; I'm aware of said issues and will try to address them when I have the time.

The SOM CD-ROM game is not "screwed up"; it was never designed to put together a starting lineup from scratch. It's not too much to ask in either offline replay or draft leagues, or online draft leagues, to supply it with some semblance of a lineup. Blanking your lineup artificially does not play towards what it was designed to do. Injury subs and in-game replacements are a different issue, however, and again, I will look into it when I can.

Also, in the future we'd all appreciate it if you would refrain from using the type of tone/language you used in your topic title. Thanks.
