Thanks for posting those, rooks.
One of the things I've always wondered about is:
On any given night, when a draft is conducted, are the mystery cards really random or are they all the same no matter what league they are drafted in due to a code imbedded that gives them their mystery card characteristic? In other words, if three leagues drafted in a night, would every George Brett selected be the 1980 card? And every Doc Gooden the 1984 card? I truly don't think so, and have never been able to really test this hypothesis, but just glancing at the MVP/Cy Young award leaders, most of the lists do have different candidates, with a bit of overlap, as you would expect. The real answer will come when I check all the players between these four leagues after the season, to make sure they don't all have the same card. One or two players all having the same years is within the realm of possibility, but every player throughout the four leagues having the same card would stink to high heaven.
Anyways,
I'm truly enjoying this theme!
