Hey Rebs, just realized something...

Since the North enjoyed over-whelming advantages in both material and manpower, shouldn't us Yankee managers get to draft teams with, say a $200 mil payroll, while you guys have to use a $60 mil payroll?

But, since almost all the battles were fought on Southern soil, maybe we could institue a rule whereby all games will be played in your parks, with the exception of maybe 1 home series for each Yankee team?

I'm guessing Pap Thomas too. One of the few Virginians who stayed loyal to his oath as an officer to the US Constitution

Trivia:

This Naval Capt. made a serious blunder at the onset of the war...He resigned his Naval commission because he thought Maryland, his home state would secede from the Union...When He saw that Maryland was Not going to secede he asked for reinstatement of his US Naval commission and was turned down...He then played a prominent role for the Confederacy in a battle at Hampton roads....Who is he and what CSS ship did he command.

Good question Pelzer, I don't know the answer but I am guessing he was the commander of the Merrimac (Virginia).
