Home Field Advantage

Other than the advantage that comes from building your team's style to fit your stadium, is there any home field advantage built into the game?

In the leagues I have been in in seems like almost all teams perform significantly better at home, even when they play as the road team in the same ballpark they use for home games.

The CD-Rom says that it factors home field advantage in. Not sure if that is the rule set they run in the 80's game though.
