why would we put our 8 players at the bottom of our cards? Shouldn't they be at the top so we can make sure we have enough money to afford them? They shouldn't be on else's cards, draft them should be guranteed.

Mark, I got your PM too.

You will want to list the 8 players you live drafted in spots 18-25 on your AD card because no one else can draft them since they are already yours. You will still need to comply with the 80m salary cap to fill out positions 1-17 on your card. As long as your 8 players plus the 17 others that you want to AD add up to less than 80m you are good to go!

You are competing with the other 5 managers on your side for the remaining 17 players you want to have. Therefore you should list them
before the 8 players that you know you will get.

Ireally didn't want Todd jones with that last pick...can i dump him for someone who wasn't drafted?

My opinion is that if you listed him on a proxy and sent it to someone to pick for you then it is the same thing as if you picked the player yourself. Unless the person did not follow your proxy instructions or something I think you should have to put Jones on your card.

You can always drop or trade him after the AD and before the season starts. If you decide not to draft him it would not be fair to the other owners who currently believe he is taken and therefore would not consider drafting him.

This is only one opinion. Others may feel differently.

I agree with Randy on the Jones issue. But, since I was not going to pick him anyway... I do not care if he repicks before the draft!!!

Clarifications please:

For our team name, do we have to use the state that we used for the lotto?
Does the ballpark have to match the state in our team's name?
Unique ballparks?

Bubury---Name is not your lotto state it's where you live. and you can use any park you want as long as it;s a southern teams park.

I think that Mark has a valid point about Todd Jones... he obviously doesn't need two expensive closers (Valverde and Jones).

The idea of proxies is to try to keep the draft moving along, but I made the mistake of listing Jones without considerring that I had already taken Valverde for Mark.

Since the good Doc didn't list Jones on his card, I don't see any harm in letting Mark re-pick (he just needs to check with Dr Tax to make sure that his 8th pick isn't included on Doc's card) in order that Mark can field as competitive a team as possible.

Pelzer, you're the de-facto Commissioner for this league, so you'll need to make a decision here.
