Another little secret I'll share with everyone...Ty Cobb is pretty good too!

I was just wondering who, in their careers for me, has performed better--Cobb or Stephenson. You'd think Cobb. But Riggs actually has more Runs Created per 700 plate appearances than Cobb--128.71 to 122.35. This does not include stolen bases, so Cobb might be a little closer.

How some guys have performed for me:
Stephenson: .334/.509/.402 128.71 RC/700
Ott: .296/.518/.413 124.87 RC/700
Cobb: .349/.469/.413 122.35 RC/700
J. Jackson: .327/.471/.391 116.79 RC/700
Keller: .307/.447/.408 108.98 RC/700
Cuyler: .308/.446/.381 106.48 RC/700
Selkirk: .266/.449/.396 102.45 RC/700

That's why I usually view Selkirk as a last option and also why I'm not always hot to get Cuyler.

A while back, someone started a thread asking which players appeared the most on your championship teams. When I looked back through mine, I was amazed that there were two players who appeared more than anyone, and I would never have guessed either. Stephenson, and Clem Dreisewerd.

The beauty of Selkirk to me is his effectiveness in any park. Stick him in Griffith and he still gets on base and can run the bases a little. Stick him in Fenway '67 and he hits a bunch of dingers.

Not too many players can be very productive in any park respective to their price.

Also, Selkirk's availability is attractive, like Riggs'.

Just to show that there's another side to the Riggs coin, here's all 5 times I've used him. 2 of the 5 were rather ordinary offensively and we know the D and arm are average at best, plus that 15 game injury thing (yuk)

Riggs Stephenson has been my RH Joe Jackson, I have used him very frequently from the very early seasons. Since every freaking player is putting Meusel in the top 5 I was going the other direction and taking hitting with Riggs, now this will make it harder.

That only leaves me with 2 sleepers for left field. BRING on ATGIII!!!!
