the falls city camels

Postby roofinghorse » Thu May 11, 2006 7:20 pm

in honor of my step aunt who put me in the little league at the ripe ol' age of 12...
falls city is/was a local beer here in louisville at the time which she drank constantly,
and the camels are the non-filter cigs the old girl smoked...
never did get to like very much, too much hatred for her brother but she did love baseball and this is my one time in life of paying her back...
its a better name than the Aunt Sis' falls city camels...lol

Falls City...

Postby bjs73 » Thu May 11, 2006 7:33 pm

I went to school in Hanover, IN. 45 min. away from Louisville. Got to know the people at the Plasma Alliance in Louisville pretty well in my college days. Falls City was a good buzz for the econonimically challenged. :P

Forgive the Nostalgia...

Postby bjs73 » Thu May 11, 2006 10:19 pm

I named one of my daughters Madison because I loved it there so much. It seemed like I lived an entire lifetime in college. I miss it down there quite a bit, especially this time of year when everything is blooming. We used to hang out the Electric Lady and Lacy's on the "main drag."

Best place to eat was Hinkle's. LOL Everyone has a different opinion on that place but it sure is a mainstay there in Madison. White Castle can't hold a candle to those sliders. I used to love eating at the Upper Crust too. (Not sure if that's still around either.) I went back for my ten year reunion in 2003 but haven't been back since.

When I was in school, I got to meet Woody Harrelson from the T.V. show Cheers. He was an alumni of my fraternity (Sigma Chi) over there at Hanover. It used to crack us up at school when his character would make mention of Hanover in the sitcom. Like his stories about his "Aunt Lefty, who got her right arm caught in the combine there in Hanover...." LOL Yeah, he was pretty much a jackass in person but it was still fun partying with him.

Guys, with all respect to the nostalgia talk, can we keep this thread to rosters and roster moves? The main thread can be used for any chat.

I just want to make it easy for everyone to find the rosters here.

Thanks.

suggestion...rather than reposting rosters...we can simply edit them so that the thread does not have rosters scattered everywhere...do we have everyones now? if not lets try to get them up soon....maybe the ones up should copy and paste them after BJ's so they are all together...or maybe a new thread would be ion order with only 12 rosters....nothing else...and edit as the season goes on.....not once a month but as soon as you trade....a player can't play until the roster is updated? we need to do something to get the rosters all in one place
