Reed had a no hitter going with two outs in the 9th and that gambling man, Pete Rose, hit a double. http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/1969/league/boxscore.html?group_id=181&g_id=54

Regarding Charlie Hustle, my family was in Vegas over the July 4th weekend. He was there all week at the autograph store in the Forum Shops giving out "free" autographs (of course, you need a picture of Pete, which someone jumped in price to $60 for a letter size b/w).

Charlie Hustle in Vegas: I know there is a punchline in there somewhere!

He was no doubt paying off some debts by signing. He's signed so many auto's, it's a wonder there's anyone left who would want it.

Mantle once said something to the effect: "When I die, St. Peter will most likely be waiting at the pearly gates with a dozen baseballs for me to sign." Rose will probably go in the other direction, but will face the same scenario once he gets there.
