Lineup help or ideas?

Lineup help or ideas?

Postby MICHAELEVANS » Mon May 15, 2006 8:57 am

I am in a purist league, and so am stuck with the 1980 KC Royals, and cannot make any roster changes.

Any ideas on how to shake this team up? They are 10 games under .500 after 126 games. I would just like to finish closer to .500. My only idea is to tweak the lineup somehow, while continuing to play with manager settings. I would appreciate any lineup ideas.

The other teams in my division are the 1986 Red Sox, the 1920 Cleveland Indians and the 1965 LA Dodgers.

Here is a link to the team:

My one and only suggestion might be to move someone else up to the #2 spot and set him to bunt more and hit & run more. Then move Wathan down and utilize his OBP a little better.

Good luck OG.

At least Brett is having a decent year. He is second in MVP voting, only 5 votes or so from the leader.

Try using the actual lineup they used . I believe it was Wilson , White , Brett, McRae, Aikens, Wathan, Otis/ Hurdle,Washington . :D There's 51 teams , you chose this one ?

White or Washington would be the guys I would consider moving up, depending upon their respective Bunt and H & R ratings.

Ok here's the lineup during the WS 80.

Wilson , McRae,Brett , Aikens, Porter, Otis,Hurdle/Wathan,White and UL against Bob Walk , I think he was a RHP.

Wilson, UL, Brett,McRae,Otis , Wathan , Aikens,Cardenal, White vs Carlton .

I moved up Washington. White's OBP for me has been a dismal .269 I picked them because we had already gone through all the good teams in earlier iterations of this league and were down to the last 12 teams. I have generally done poorly in 2 of the 3 previous leagues, but won my division last season with the 1915 Phillies with Pete (but got beat in the semi finals). I will not play this format again, because I just can't seem to pick (or manage) a winner.

Well it looks like the manager was flip flopping UL and White in the 2 hole . here's link to the 1980 WS . To give you an idea of what he was doing . It may help Geez , it may not too . :D
