For Pete's Sake!60 million DH theme league

I have done my team, but it is no problem. We just designate before the draft whom the protected layer is, and if he ends up on somebody else's roster, the player is released into the free agent pool. I am certainly OK with that as a theme, so shall we do it?

Ah, what the heck, I've never been in a 60 league anyway, so why not? May 15th wasn't my birthday (Happy birthday to you 3!), but since I hate my birthdays (Chief, do you want to analyze that?), and I lost the finals in game 7 last night, I might as well.

My team will do the best it can to get Pete 40 wins, and probably contribute to a few 20 game winners as well.

Had a team on paper ready for $60M, the timing worked out nicely.

It may be too late, if any 2 of the current managers have the same 1st pick?

I realize it would be fair that anyone that entered before me be given first choice to select their protected player, but I'd hate to have wasted a #1 pick on a guy I have to drop to keep with the theme.

These closed leagues are usually pretty congenial. Just ask the guy if they drafted the player. In fact, if we have consensus that we are going to do the theme as stipulated, just say now whom you want, and they can go back to draft list and change. In fact, if we know ahead of time we are going to do this, you can place your designated player at the 25 spot. I put Pete first because the league was not set up specifically that way.

On the Honor system my protected player would be Honus Wagner and I listed him 1st. If we do the one protected player I will take him. If not I am willing to adjust my team to pick up 3 finger Brown and Honus is up for grabs (of course 3 finger is not on my draft list so I will do some adjusting which does not bother me at all. Since this is Muttdoc's and I's birthday pool I will let him select my present (he knows I love pitchers and Honus equally!)
