NLD 13 Draft thread

Semper Gumby,

Actually I am pretty sure it was treyomo's 12 team experiment that helped rationalize the unexplained cold streak for hitters in favorable parks.

He was able, with TSN assistance, to put 12 teams into 1 league, and he loaded some teams with very strong hitting lineups and put them in hitters parks and facing teams with .50 pitchers and some of the hitters STILL underperformed, and others went cold after being hot all season. There was documented proof that on average the hitters performed worse in the 2nd half as compared to the first.

After that TSN, read Bernie, took a very close look at the logic and found out that there was a code on that caused offensive players to cool down unnaturally if they were on too good of an offensive streak.

Of course, I am sure your grumbles, as well as those of several others helped lay the groundwork for treyomo to do his experiment. :)

AT,

Yes, I remember treyomo's league (why didn't TSN just run do it on its own dime??). :?:

And, the totality of the arguments surely caused TSN to make changes too (TSN denied the issue for almost two years). :)

If I recall correctly, TSN finally made its changes only after someone had an offline discussion with the management on consumer protection laws.

Perhaps the cause and effect are just a coincidence -

Wow, 22 innings 0-0. You should submit that as game of the week. That was *some* game!

Wow! I guess the sims were right about the league being even as 9 of the 12 teams have between 57-60 wins.

Lost 4 series in a row. I hope it's just the law of averages catching up with me as there was no way I could continue at the winning percentage I was on. Nevertheless a little nervous about the way my squad is playing at the moment. Fortunately Smokey hasn't gone on a winning streak.

Well a week ago I certainly was not expecting my team to be one of those 57-60 squads! I do not think I've been this close to .500 since the first week of the season! :D

So Uhm anyone know anything about Memphis TN.???

The ABC affiliate is flying me down there for a job interview in 2 weeks and I know nothing about the city at all.

Weird place to ask I'll admit, but you guys are from all parts of the country and seem to be a wealth of of info.

!*!$&%!!#$#

We lost Duffy for ANOTHER 15 games after playing in two!!!! WTF!!!

That's either horrible luck or bad programming. Course I just saw on the forum that someone got 156 games from him so I guess it's bad luck, but sh** this is ridiculous. The guy doesn't have a 6 injury!

Here are the numbers:

Starting in game 71 8 game injury
plays for 7
3 game injury
Plays 1, leaves early with 0 game injury (what do you know!)
Plays 11 games in a row!!!!!
Injured for 6
Plays 1
Injured for 8
Plays 2
injured for 15

So, in sum total, from Game 71 to game 135

Injured: 41 games
Played : 23

CRIPES! :?

Not happy tonight.

Wow. Duffy has his injury at 4, the same number as the primary roll used to bring ballpark effects into play, and he has rolled it six times this season. Shocking.
