Can't Make the Playoffs/Expert Aid Wanted

4 of my last 6 teams have either lost the division by 1 game or lost a tie-breaker for a playoff spot. I seem to have gotten down pat how to win 85-89 games, but am wondering if the experts out there can take a look at these squads & advise on where I fell short. Thanks.

No expert here by any means, but defense sticks out on 3 teams. 133, 151, 155 errors.

Also no expert but to me the first thing that I see is your relief pitching is a factor......Your relief may be OK at home but on the road I suspect your relief came up short...

You have mastered bad luck, all of those teams could easily have made the playoffs. I don't think you are doing anything wrong.

Well, in my "expert" opinion, I would have to say-- bad luck. Those are all very solid teams, some a bit weak in the Pen, but the weak pens put up decent numbers. All I can say is have patience, the playoff wins will come. I recently had a stretch of 18 seasons without a title. That was with 11 playoff appearances, 5 finals losses and 6 semi-final losses. Two 102-win teams, and five 90+ win teams, including one that took 99. Also 84 & 87 win teams that finished 2nd and lost tie-breakers for playoffs. Sometimes it's just not meant to be. Just keep putting together good, solid teams like those examples and the rings will come. :lol:

Appreciate the feedback. The point TKL made re defense is well taken & something I will pay a bit more attention to in setting up future squads.
As to the bullpen, that is a complete crapshoot to me. I've spent $8M+ on some pens in the past & had those guys perform worse than pens costing < $5M. Guess it's just bad dice rolls.

My .02cents. If this is the Randy I think it is, I know it is just a little bad luck, because you really know how to put a team together. (better D though) I wouldn't be suprised if your next handful of teams go deep into the playoffs and get a Title or 2. :):):)

I agree with the good reviews of your teams.

Considering the players you are using frequently, you might check some gkhd11a and Munich Man teams for ideas to steal. You also could try using the same players in Crosley, West Side, Comiskey '19, Royals type parks. Those might give your style a little bit more of an edge.
