Check this one out - another colassal late season semi-flop. Through 109 games, this team was 77 and 32 (.706) and on pace for a buck fourteen! I thought I had an outside chance to catch Panzer's 114 win team. However, in my last 20, I'm 3 and 17 and I'm riding an 8 game losing streak. My pitchers are solid, particularly Sutton and Rogers (good card revealed through injury), but the hitting has fallen off. I gave Comer a start last night to shake things up, but that didn't work (he pitched well, though). I'm thinking about pulling everyone out of the lineup and let HAL make the call tonight. Should be fun!

Never fear, my doormat team  is on deck for you. I am sure that you will start a winning season soon.

It sure can happen. I had a team recently that was rolling along at 79-57, and on top of it's division by about five games at game 136. Over my last 30 games I'd gone 20-10. At this point, pretty much all the players were known to be in good years.

The team went 1-14 over the next fifteen games and closed out with another 5-7, going 6-21 over the last 27. I finished 9 games out of the division race and just missed the wildcard by a couple.

Nothing wrong with the team that I could see. It just started losing, is all.

I look forward to that meeting, jsamia! I'm up against the guy who is now on my tail (2 games back) tonight.

I was in that league, Outta LF. Tough fall.

I went back and checked my pre-flop record. Before the 3 and 17 streak, I won 38 out of 47! 77-32 (.706), including 38-9 (.809) in last 47, and then 3-17 (.150)! Seems like some loaded dice....... Maybe I'll get the wildcard and then beat the division winner in the 1st round!

I see you didn't complain about an 809 pct, but when it's 150 you let us all know. 809 is just as unreasonable as 150, but it is how things work. Baseball is a funny game...even the SOM version
