Beat The Boss League - v1969

Postby novie » Thu Sep 29, 2005 10:07 am

The Beat The Boss league is heading in the waaaaaaay back machine to 1969. I had to alter the parameters to fit a season that had just 24 teams, and here they are:

[b:223a6af605]Rules[/b:223a6af605]

1. 80M, DH, Waivers, Advanced Skill

2. Pick 3 lotto for pick slots of a franchise, low to high.

3. You must maintain a minimum of 19 franchise players on your team at all times. You maintain the rights to your unused franchise players for the season.

4. Any unused franchise player can be traded. A franchise traded player counts toward your 19 required players. ie: Clemente gets traded for Rose, then Roberto counts as a Red and Pete counts as a Pirate.

5. Following the team selection, there will be a five round live draft of FA players from the unselected franchises. The order will be inverse of team TSN salary cap number. IE: SD would have the #1 pick in each round and Minnesota the last pick. You DO NOT have to draft or keep 5 FA players. At no time may you have more than 5 FA's.

6. Your AD card must include all your live drafted FA's.

7. The Baltimore Orioles ARE NOT eligible as a franchise team. They are the Boss team of 1969.

8. Divisions will be grouped by initial franchise salary cap numbers. Low 4 in the East, middle 4 in the Central, and high 4 in the West.

Clarification

Postby rschwartz51 » Sat Oct 01, 2005 9:56 am

1. Is it correct that noboy has Baltimore as a Franchise vs this being a challenge of the Orioles.

2. If the Orioles aren't a Franchis are their players eligible to be drafted.?

It is my understanding that any team is elligible to be picked as your franchise team except Baltimore. All players from the 12 unselected teams, including Baltimore, are considered to be non-franchise free agents. The great Oriole players will be spread around the league as non-franchise free agents!
