[quote:cd782a1ec0="Assmeriten"]Any one know why Ace has 10 hours on the clock instead of 2? And of course either his proxy(ies) were taken or he didn't set any.[/quote:cd782a1ec0]

I suspect that this is related to the problem that I referred to above regarding the clock. It has been set at 10:47amEST since the start of your 2-hour time period.

So, it looks like Ace has 9 hours to make his next pick.

I believe the draft clock stops at midnight each night. Thus if a pick happens after 8 PM, the 4 hour allotted draft time extends on into the next day...............Since someone picked at 12:47 am, the next guy ha suntil 10:47 am.

[quote:288cb09175="stevep107"]Dear Assmeriton:

I did not mean any offence to you.

When I logged onto the site (prior to your pick) in the top left of the screen, it said that you had until 10:17am on the 26th of May.

Since Aswintheseries had proxies set up for his next two picks, shouldn't the system have skipped you and proceeded with his picks two hours after your time period started?

It appears to me that we would have been required to wait until that time 10:17amEST for you to be skipped, had you not made your pick when you did.

Regards,
Steve[/quote:288cb09175]

As we found out proxies do not automatically kick in after 2 hours have elasped. All that happens is after 2 hours the next person has to click on mae pick and then make their selection. This way the next persons' proxies then do kick in.

I see Splits is up and the clock is still at 5 hours.

Not that this is a justifiable excuse but I had come in from doing some major drinking so while I wasn't drunk I did have a major buzz going on last night. Had to get out and try to relax since I'm on vacation this week, my birthday is Sunday, and all I have been doing so far is cleaning up my apartment. Sound like fun?

The clock gets turned off overnight. Unfortunately Steve isn't in the U.S. and doesn't get to sleep. Bigmahon has the same problem being in the U.K. I have no access at work so I load up on proxies and hope I put in enough. You have to put in LOTS of proxies. The only time I've ever been skipped in a live draft was when my DSL was down and I couldn't turn proxies on. Now today I'll run out of proxies.

Example on how the clock works:

If someone picks at 11pm EDT, the next person will have until 10am EDT. Since the clock stops at midnight and picks back up at 9am, then that's TWO HOURS. The time between Midnite and 9am DOESN'T COUNT.

Any other time, it's two hours from the last pick. Steve, if you know the time difference between where you are and the east coast of the USA, then you can figure out when the clock isn't running where you are.

Like Rigged said, the KEY is to set lots of proxies.

Disclaimer: I'm not positive that the clock starts at 9am, it may be another time, if so, you can still use my example above to determine how the clock works.

The clock is now back at 2 hours. Giddy's pick was at 8:12 and Ryno has until 10:12. So the clock must run normally at 8:00 Am ET. We are almost done with round 6. 8)

Guys,

Thanks for the explanations of how the clock works.

Hopefully, my proxies will work overnight. If not, I'll have to scramble to do my picks first thing in the morning.

By the way, there is a 12-hour time difference between where I am and EST in NOrth America so it is 9pm now.

So the 8 hours the clock is stopped is between Noon and 8pm for you. Not the most optimum time obviously.

BTW, Ryno has but a few more minutes.
