Well, As the progenitor of the bragging thread on the old boards, I felt it was my right, no, my RESPONSIBILITY to start another one on the new. :twisted:

Normally, I would not go for such obvious self-aggrandizement, but the original spawned a [b:125311341c]Bragging Rights League[/b:125311341c] which bobby started as a throw-down-the-gauntlet challenge to those bragging as a proof of ability and a test of fire to back up their lofty words.

This league is now over--- [color=red:125311341c][b:125311341c]AND I HAVE WON!!![/b:125311341c][/color:125311341c]

As winner of the Bragging Rights League (giving me my 10th title in a 7-1 march through the playoffs, I might add), I thought it fitting that I restart the bragging thread mentioning that fact. :lol:

My suggestion is we use this space to post significant achievements, links to great teams, exceptional performances (that might not qualify for the record books but nonetheless should be seen) and any other examples of good play that might come in handy as a reference for people just starting out or those who want to improve.

Of course a little horn-tooting may be in order as well. :wink: :)

The Munich_Man is King for a Day....he took on a lot of ATG II's boasting boys and put them on the shelve......although not forever. I know there's many who are itching to get in the ring with the Man who holds the belt...The best way to settle the issue is to offer a rematch....Stay tuned...Bobby

Accomplishments....hmmmm....I threw a no-hitter when I was 12....in 3rd grade, I knocked an eighth grader off the snowhill. (Hope no one notices me distracting attention from my ATGII mediocrity)

In the last 24 hours:

Jimmy Key pitched a no-hitter (my seventh in ATGII, not counting one perfect game).

Ken Boswell hit for the cycle in 1969.

And about five minutes ago I got ring 13. Team won 114 games for the season too (7-3 in the postseason). Mantle was the MVP and Clemens got the Cy Young. And I thought the team sucked when the season started...:roll:

The others being PJMB and Modmark, I believe. It sure didn't help that you weasels won 96, 90 and 87 games to put me in my (4th) place!!

Of course my 73-win worst season ever didn't help matters.

That was what started the thread: through 44 seasons, I had never finished in 4th place, I started the bragging thread boasting of the fact and promptly took 4th in league #50. Since that 4th, I have six 1sts and a 2nd, though :)

Hey Bobby, you thinking of sponsoring another league? What did you have in mind? Whatever it is, I'm up for it. The only way to be the best is beat the best, that's what I always say. There are so many great managers in this game, it's a pleasure to go up against them. No (or hardly any, unless I'm trying a theme) public leagues for this cowboy, although lately I hear they are no cup of tea either.

How about....let's beat Munich_Man's best team...As the current champion, Munich_Man gets to post his best team. I mean the team that he has with the best season record in ATG II. He must keep the same team that has his best season record to date...... That's the challenge...Munich_Man best and he can't change it all season long... Do we have the challenge??? Rick needs to post the team and the record..... Let's get a yes from Rick and then set up a thread to gather managers.......Bobby
