Gentlemen,
In what's looking like my first lost season of this decade, I find myself very close to packing it in for the year and looking towards 1987. As I have told some of you, the "point of no return" was originally at the 120th game....but when that time came, I had just swept my 2nd consecutive opponent and things suddenly didn't look so bad. However, last night we dropped 2 of 3 to the division leading Beulahs, putting me 11 full games out of 1st with less than 40 games to play. It's not impossible to come back, but it's looking less and less likely.
So with this in mind, I'm considering trading away most of the talent on this year's blasted team. I hate 'em, but I must admit, there is some serious carded talent on this roster. Here's an example:
Hubie Brooks - 1986 (best year, confirmed)
Dan Gladden - 1984 (best year, confirmed)
George Brett - 1980 (best year, confirmed)
Cecil Cooper - 1980 (best year, suspected, but not confirmed)
Ozzie Virgil - 1987 (best year, suspected, but not confirmed)
Mike Aldrete - 1993 (best power year, confirmed)
Danny Tartabull - 1987 (2nd best year, confirmed)
Not only are all these guys likely going to be available (it would take a LOT to get Brett, though), but I also have some pitchers who may be worth something to some of you contenders. Ryan, Boddicker, Mahler Bailes and my entire bullpen can be had.
Again, I just want to remind you guys, this is pretty much a feeler to see what kind of feedback I get in return. I could possibly make up 6 games in 3 nights and all these guys will be off the table. But realistically, I must do this to prepare for the worst case scenario. So please, contact me if there's any interest (I know some of you already have). All it could take is one more losing series to push me over the edge.
LMK.

P.S. - Don't ask me how I managed to lose all those games with these cards. I have no idea. Actually, I do have an idea. My pitching was pathetic. By the time I got some decent arms in here, it was too late.
