Warrior sent you a PM. Blockbuster!!!

Sent you a second PM, the second one contains one of my favorite options for covering DH. Worth reading.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Question. Since I am a rookie, during waiver draft and free agency for the entire season ahead, we are still restricted to only players on our 5 1/2 teams or is it open house? I read it as we are restricted all year long, unless we make a trade.

That is correct - you are restricted all season to the players on your 5 half-squads (minus those traded away plus those acquired via trade).

Just a reminder to owners that they are also required to play in one of the 5 parks their half-squads belong to. So if you had NYM Hitting, NYM Pitching, Seattle Hitting, Detroit Pitching & SD Hitting you could only play in Shea, SAFECO, Comerica & Petco.

If any of the above owners has a team pretty well prepared - please go ahead and create the League. I know we're not starting til June 12th, but I'd like to have everyone in, if possible, by Mon-Wednesday of next week so that owners will have time to make final adjustments due to their divisional ballparks/etc.

The League should be set up as such:

Name: Team Based Keeper Season V 2006

Pwd: Priviledge of the person creating league

Salary: 80m

DH: Yes

Advanced: Yes

Waivers: No

5/10/20 Salary Cap Hit format

Gang, I have catchers galore available.

[b:440b004754]Valentin[/b:440b004754] crushes RH's and is great for a LH park.

[b:440b004754]Larue[/b:440b004754] is more balanced and has a great card.

[b:440b004754]I.Rod[/b:440b004754] can hurt LH's and has the big throwing arm.

Besides them I still have [b:440b004754]Felix Hernandez [/b:440b004754]ready to help a pitching team dominate.

And lots of neat spare parts that all have value like [b:440b004754]Putz, Shouse, and Thames.[/b:440b004754]

If you want a REAL catcher that crushes RTs, I have [b:f69eb0b18c]Victor Martinez[/b:f69eb0b18c] available.

Nice try rook,

BUT "crushing" means TB's and while Victor has 48 TB chances and 7 BP effect HR's, Javier has the same with EIGHT BP effect chances. So, I think I can honestly say that Valentin "crushes" RH's.

If you are going to "talk the talk" your players better "walk the walk".

Victor has 60 total bases against RTs. with 7 BP homers. 43 oba vs 35 for javier.

He also makes a nice DH because of oba and tb, where javier fails, thus victor can be carried as second catcher and used as DH. Javier is more restricted to catcher only since his price includes his better defense. Therefore Victor ends up cheaper cause money you save not having to waste it on a second catcher who does nadda. Plus Victor's injury is a "1" while Javier goes down more easily.

Still, if you need a catcher, Javier is good choice. Victor is for the more creative manager.

Schooled!

He also has a +1 throwing arm and he doesn't exactly set the world on fire vs. LH's. I'd easily rather have Valentin and say J. Molina in the right park than Martinez for basically the same price.

Plus I am sure he's "untradeable". If a guy like Vargas is untradeable then Victor must certainly be. A "creative manager" wouldn't make such a preposterous statement.
