TBK League II - Season III (2005) - Season Underway!!

Postby ArrylT » Wed May 24, 2006 9:27 am

Not a bad start for my squad - despite what I feel is weak starting pitching. I hope we can hold up over the course of the full season! :!:

About 1/3rd of the way in and it looks like all the divisions are still pretty tight. ggapp does look like he is trying to put some distance between his squad and the rest of the West though ...

Venting Alert!!!

Postby doctrcpa » Sat Jun 03, 2006 7:50 am

In preseason, I looked at my team and guessed it for around 76 wins. Then we got off to a good start, say around 16-11 and first place in the division. Current record is now 23-34, which means that IO have won 7 of my last 30 games!!!   :( :( :(

Thanks go out to:
Todd Helton - I know you would not generate a $12M season, but certainly you can do better than .246 5HR 27RBI!!
Rod Barajas - .094 with one extra base hit in 100 at bats. I know you are not a good fit for my park, but I would expect better numbers just off of the pitchers' cards!
Hank Blalock - .210 4HR 21RBI
Jeromy Burnitz - .200

And let's not forget the pitching... Only 2 SP with an ERA < 5.00. Osuna and Cruz, the IP eaters in the pen, both with ERAs > 5.50.

Unless things improve :? , this will be my worst 2005 team by a long shot. :(

Thank you letting me vent. Consider the floodgates opened for anyone else who wishes to do the same.

Feel free to do so anytime doctorcpa! It certainly was a good read. :)

I could gripe about my pitching - but they are stomachable so long as we keep slugging our way to wins - might not be pretty but it seems to be working!

Been there before Doc. I have found my way to first as my home park record has been great. But , still, my team as a whole has been underperforming(untill recently) IMO, except for Gload, who always does well for me, Kotsay,(leadoff hitter leading my team in RBI'S and Martinez.

Since you are in my division, I will say thanks for helping me climb to the top.

And hopefully I will not be here in a week doing the same venting as you. :!:

Gotta give kudos to Lieber/Ryan/Gordon pitching a shutout. That and a solo shot in the 1st was all that kept me from winning a sweep on the road.

Team is still doing pretty good - 7 games above .500 ... looks like my division is going to be a tough one!
