Relief Pitching?

Relief Pitching?

Postby guardian154 » Mon Jun 05, 2006 8:16 am

I know there was a thread on what the last number here means...[b:0823e79370]pitcher-2 relief(3)/6@[/b:0823e79370]...but I didn't see the final outcome. So I'll ask again. Does the last number(6) mean outs, batters faced or hits? ..

It seems to be hits, cause he did that exactly...

I hate losing games this way..

The last number is the number of outs he can do as a closer .

Wow, that's ridiculous. I wish there was a way to post anonymously b/c I know HAL will make me pay for this, but Giusti should have been pulled as soon as that second run crossed that plate that inning. It was obvious he wasn't going to get the job done. But then he gets left in to not only tie the game, but goes on to give up the 3 runner. If any manager anywhere managed a bullpen that way, they would get canned real quick. I've had plenty of losses handed to me that way, so I feel your pain. HAL's thrown a few in my favor, too, but not many.

The only LH'er he faced, he got to line-out. He's set to avoid LH'ers. I had Forsch, Sisk and Fingers available in the Pen. If they would have come in to face McCovey the game may have been a different story. I still had J Murphy for Rh'ers left in the Pen. Guisti almost did it twice. The very next game he gave up 2 in 1 inning of relief... I won 4-3...

I hate it when Hal leaves a reliever in as a sacrificial lamb . He does it all the times also . Most carry 5 RP , sometimes I carry 6 and he still lets one or two get shelled every now and then while guys are on the bench rested .

In the CDROM version you can have HAL pull a pitcher after a set number of runs.

I know the TSN game couldn't ever ever allow the cd-rom "SUPER-HAL" logic... but maybe instead of or in addition to "pitch when tired", slow/quick hook, etc., they should allow a min/max number of batters/runners type entry vs. LH and RH... (e.g. Assenmacher would be set to max of 0 RH's and 2 LH's, because I want him out of the game as quickly as he neters!).

It's bad enough when you look at the boxscores and see your team went 1 -2 for the nite; and the middle game is close 7- 5 but you loose. Then you open it up and find out the winning team scored all 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th against 1 reliever.. :? :?
