What type of team is best for RFK?

Postby GREGRASHEED » Thu Jun 08, 2006 8:51 am

I am playing in RFK currently. My record is 6 - 3. My roster has:

1b Dunn, Snow
2b Kent
3b Figgins
ss Cabrera
lf Bay
cf Tavaras
rf Dye
c Varitek
dh Giambi

sp

Peavy
Millwood
Westbrook
Morris
Oswalt

rp

Wagner
Wickman
Dushscherer
Ayala

Should I dump Kent for more defense?

2 things i do not like about Kent in RFK

1) Poor defense
2) very BP dependent

I personally believe that in a pitchers park, you are trying to win (usually) with pitching and defense. A guy like Kent does not fit that mold. Now I would not mind a 3 at the corners with natural power (dunn is a good choice for you here), but 2b is one of the key positions, and I would not play anyone below a 2 rating....

My .02 :)

Hitters: LH Power/RH OBA - good D up the middle - esp SS and 2B

Pitchers: SP - Tough LH mixed with Tough LH revs. And a few matchup RH SP's for RH teams. RP/Closer: Cheap hard RH/Cheap Hard LH and 1, a good RH middle RP/ setup guy who is also tough on LHH and a monster LH closer - there are only 4/5 available. So you need 1 of them as a top 4/5Pick. If you don't get 1 you could have trouble closing games. Be sure to have pitchers who have very low or no BP HRs vs the leftside.

RFK, with the right combination of players is one of the best 06' Parks to play. Without the right players, it could be pretty dismal.

That's the simple RFK formula.
