Robert - while I am a CPA, I do corporate accounting work and not personal income taxes (other than my own :) ). I am in a league with doctor tax and will ask him to look at your question. BTW, note sent to Jase yesterday but no response yet.

Rob,

I'd post a link to the Vet/Rook league chat or our LOTO Consolation league chat thread but I don't want to scare anyone off. I'll wait till it's too late for them to back out before I scare the hell out of them with those threads.

P.S. The IRS doesn't pay interest on late tax credits. Funny how that works, we get interest charged to us on late payments but they can take their sweet old time paying us with no penalty.

[quote:bca998e045="CATom"]Glad to get some new people in here :) (VERY tired of beating up on all the "old people")

hehehehehe - just kidding, don't know if i have ever made it past the FIRST round with these guys!

BTW - Kev is a newly wed! Did my best to talk him outta it :D We now have a Mrs. Spud and awaiting info on any possible NEW spuds

should be a great season (even if only one) - hope the "other" two decide to jump on board!

Oh, the tax man is a great guy - offered everyone in our league "FREE" tax advice (BEGINNING ON APRIL 18th) :P[/quote:bca998e045]

[b:bca998e045]Thanks Tom. Been married 6 weeks. I had sent a picture of the two of us to a few of the regulars in my leagues. They all said the same thing: "She is an absolute Hottie but she must obviously be blind"! I can live with it. Once I told her I was hooked on ON-LINE Strato, she couldn't take her hands off of me.
***Warning to the league: Doctor Tax did give "seemingly" free tax advice to his fellow league-mates until I was billed in the mail. He tricked me into getting my home address by offering to send me a wedding present. A $200 Tax consulting bill for telling me I could write off my goldfish and cat as dependents does not constitute as free tax advice! :x

Actually Ty, That's a good idea...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Fri Jun 09, 2006 11:38 am

I do think that Kev can handle it tho...

Kev, I can't figure out why my wife would ever even give me a 2nd look, let alone sleep with me and raise my kid. Maybe its because I can cook.

Looks like the leagvue is shaping up as we are 4 teams into League D now...Only 8 more to go. As stated, I have put out Private messages, multiple pages and League mail messages to everyone left on the list. I even sent a couple of them emails...My guess is that several are out of town.

So everyone, please contact the players you have been mentioning and have them come read the format and rules. They can place themselves on an alternate list below the invitees and will replace those I take off the list on Monday(Or late Sunday Nite) on a 1st come 1st served basis.

Again, if any of you are in leagues with players on the list who have not signed on, shoot them a league message and see if you can get them to respond. A simple Y or N will do.

Gotta' go...Thanks again.

[quote:8473e4518b="robvoz"]If either DR Tax or Chuck(Dr CPA) can answer it for me - It would be hugely appreciated. My wife and I filed an extension, which we do every year cuz tax time is so busy for us every year, we wait until the summer when everything dies down to do them.

We have a tax credit from 2004 that we have not yet received. It has been about 1 year now since we filed. I read somewhere that GW has put some kind of freeze on Tax credits for working stiffs like us, while the rich are enjoying their benefits and credits.

1. Whether this is true or not, how do I get my 04' money back? And since it has been awhile, do I get interest on it, just as they would charge me if it were the other way around? 2. Since I have not yet received that credit, can I include that as an addition on my 05' Return, which we have noit yet filed?

I am definitely a bottomline kind of guy. All I am interested in is getting my refund. Any suggestions or assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated...I don't want to call and complain because altho I believe we have absolutely nothing to hide. I would prefer not to have the time inconvenience of an audit.

Robert:

When you say tax credit, what do you mean???

Are you saying that you had an overpayment from 2004 that you did not get refunded, but applied to 2005?
If that is the case, that is still your money, which you can get back after you file your 2005 return. Course, there is no interest earned on that money, and assuming you owe nothing for 2005.

If it is a tax credit, I need more info. There are many many tax credits available, there are no freezes that I know of???

If you need some more clarification, PM me and we can talk through other means if necessary
