July theme is as follows:

1. 2006 year
2. 80 mill league
3. DH
4. Weighted Waivers
5. Graduated drop
6. All position players has to have a 4 or 5 on defense. Only player not to have a 4 or 5 is he DH. Thus, only 1 player can be drafted with non 4/5 as defense. :(
7. Only 2 starters can pitch on 3 days rest. Thus, you will have a 5 man rotation. :lol:
8. Home stadium has to have at least 10 as a HR rating from both sides of the plate. 8)
9. Closer has to be 3 or lower, thus not relivers with closer rating of 4,5, or 6 can be drafted. :shock:

QUICK STATS

Based on my 10-minute analysis, the player pool looks like this:

* There are 220 players that are either a "4" or a "5" on defense. 59 of those are priced at $.50. An additional 52 are priced between $.51 and $1.00. Only 23 players are priced over $4.00. (Of course, the designated DHs that are better than this defensively are NOT counted in these numbers).

* I saw 111 total Closers in this catalog. 77 have a Closer rating of "3" or less. Of those 77 eligible Closers in this catalog, 48 are rated as "C(0)".

Here are my questions:

(1) I never played with a Closer rating before. How will Matt Wise (with a C(0)) do as a closer? Will HAL even let him close?

(2) How can we insure that HAL will not put our good defensive player in the game when there is an injury? Can we prevent a "1" (our DH) from coming into the game as a defensive replacement?

(3) Are Weighted Waivers and "graduated drops" included in the 2006 Game? Or is this a manual excercise?

By my count, 34 Closers were eliminated by this rule.

You cant ensure that HAL will not replace bad defensive player with good on an injury.... thats HAL trying to do his best. You cannot use the defensive sub rule..... but.. most of your bench will be the 4 and 5 also. DH will not come into the immediate game as a replacement, but may in the games afterwards untill changed(as quickly as possible) by management.

Matt Wise could close... sure. I have had no luck with him doing anything in the bullpen.

The waivers/drops are handled when the league is set up.

Schilling is out if his rating is over 3!!!!!

Now remember..... not sure about the count.. but hte player does not have to be exclusively 4 or 5.

Example... Jason Bay is 3 in leftfield and 4 in centerfield. He would qualify as a centerfielder. I hope I made this clear???

My counts are OFF! I forgot about the Jason Bays of the world...sorry.

Question: can Curt Schilling or Ryan Dempster be used as a starter? They both have starter ratings but also are both eliminated by the Closer ratings. Just looking for clarification.

I think I'd rather do my taxes!
