What do you think is the best line-up? (no DH). I will post mine after I get a few responses :)

Best lineup with or without injured players?

Is Pete Rose a player manager or just a manager? jk

This is not a good offensive team overall. Not much to work with in the lineups be here goes assuming everyone is healthy:

vs RHP
Sanders LF
Bradley CF
ARod SS
Gomes RF
Hudson 2B
Pena 1B
McPHerson 3B
Barajas C

vs LHP
Bradley CF
Spivey 2B
ARod SS
Gomes RF
Sanders LF
Barajas C
Pena 1B
Encarnacion 3B

It is tough playing a 4 in LF and RF. Outside of ARod and Gomes this team is struggling.

I like Rodriguez at the front. Everyone else has X-base hits behind him, and he has the OBP. Also, that gives my best batter 30-40 more at bats per year.

With no true lead off- is this the way to go? I could use bradley vs RHP as leadoff (40 OB chances), but he always seems to struggle.

DT - Interesting approach. I'd argue with you on using ARod as leadoff. You are essentially guaranteeing that he will have 162 plate appearances with NO ONE on base for him to advance/drive in.

I'm not smart enough to have figured this out for myself. During Barry Bonds' years of chemically-enhanced super production, I thought I had reinvented the wheel by putting Bonds at leadoff with two OBP guys at 8 and 9. I think it was Luckyman who pointed out why this isn't the best approach, for the above-stated reason.

ARod at #2 or #3 will open up those RBi opportunities. Maybe Bradley at leadoff and Gomes at #2 vs RHP?

As I said- Bradley looks good, but I never see him produce.

The alternate to 162 games with no one on base is, in that he gets more at bats because he is in the first spot.

More ABs with no one OB? I would rather have a few less ABs bat him 3rd with your best two OBP guys ahead of him. With your #8 hitter and pitcher ahead of him you are really limiting his RBI potential. Why not have your best hitter in an RBI spot instead of hoping they rest of your guys can bring him around?

That's the question- the thing is that A-Rod is my best on-base guy. I have tried it for a few weeks just to see, but is there an advantage to putting a sub-par hitter in front of him just so he might have someone to hit in during the first inning? I wish I could think of a way to objectively analyze this question.
