The few winning teams I've had have been around the middle in hitting and pitching.

Have no idea what that means.

Tough season...

You did finish 2nd in pitching, based on ranking by ERA. I also see that in addition to the 615 EARNED runs, your team surrendered another 111 UNEARNED runs.

Your infield had a 1e68 at SS, a 3 range at 3B, and an outfield of e9, e10, e10. My little ol' opinion is that your defense cost you more than one game, and thus the wildcard.

And somehow your relievers lost almost as many games (17) as the saved (22). Withy only 2 RP's that had any stats, perhaps they were pitching almost every game "tired", which is why their WHIP is so high for their cards and compared to your starters. That'll hurt the playoff potential as well. I'm not sure than 4.88M on your catcher (O'Neill) was better spent than going with a more economical catcher and spending another 2M for a decent reliever.

Just my 2 cents.
