I'll trade you any pitcher on my staff, except Reuschel and Eck, for Comer.

For the pricing, Burke would have been the usual suspect.

On the other hand, I didn't see much else in the performance / price range for Comer.

All Lefty Fenway?

Postby Semper Gumby » Mon Jun 19, 2006 9:27 pm

Nice late inning grab of Cecil Cooper to round out nice former Boston Red Sox club

Cerone
Cooper
Boggs
Remy
Lollar
Sambito
Murphy

Of course, I may need to start another lessons learned chapter in my [i:be07b8c48c]80s Manager Secrets [/i:be07b8c48c]manual with Jablowmis' majority lefty Fenway team.

4 LHSPs and 2 LHRPs along with higher 5 1/2 starting $ LHBs.

Very interesting.

Too bad I didn't fish Fisk your way

Semper,
Just wondering if you are a scribe, or were a scribe, a la W.E.B. Griffin, with the USMC? You sure can entertain with the written word.

Apparently, chit does happen. The woefully weak Falcons mustered just enough offense to somehow win 2 of 3 even though they were outscored 7 to 5 in the series. All these hitters parks, and we get three pitching duels. It's going to be a long season. At least I have luck smiling down on me, and injury reveal shows an extremely desireable 86 or 87 Tim Raines. (I know, some of you are going to say, why did you discount the 84 card???) I firmly believe if a player has more than 700 ABs+BBs, he can be injured for the remainder of the game only. Raines missed the remainder of the game plus one. Voila'. (Or is that Viola??) 84 eliminated.

Still no sog jr, but thanks for the congrats in advance :D

I haven't forgotten my donation, will stay make it.

Scribe?

That must be what the Air Force calls the golf score keeper for the pilots! :D

Me?

I have three MOSs - infantry / artillery officer [both formal schools and held command] as well as the unique job of being one of a few economists in the civil affairs field.

Another fine example of a pitching team showing up for a hitters' park

Orel and Soto toss nice games only to lose because Strawberry spent too much time working with his supplier inbetween innings. One bright spot for Straw - despite going 0-13 in the series - he only whiffed 2 times. :D Must be his non-whiffing card - yes, that hidden 6th season.

Another good sign, HAL didn't pinch hit for Gywnn or Rice! :)

No grand plan - just stepped into it! Tried for more balance, but lost out on Dale Murphy, among others, in the auto. Against RHP, I'll start 7 LHs. Against LHP, I'll start 5 RHs. I thought about trying to swap one of the LH SPs for a comparable RH, but then decided that I might as well keep them from facing my LHs.

The Cooper thing pissed Al Davis off, who went 0-5 last night.

Sure hope we (Huntley Hills) are not headed for another 4-17 start...

Can the Chit Turn it Around?

Postby Semper Gumby » Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:19 pm

After dropping 2 games last night despite great outings by Orel and Soto as well as scoring a few more runs than the former Zoomie's team, Chit takes its show back into the park tonight with a surprise start by Falcone.

Key will be if Strawberry can snap his 0-13 slump and Rice demonstrate why he should be in the Hall of Fame.

Otherwise, we're going to have a few issues with Doran sitting on the bench with a bruised set of nuts (he forgot to wear his Chit Happens approved jock strap!). :o

Probably the one area where my team is weak - no decent back-up for Doran so we may see Morrison limbering up for his start at the second base.

Other than my team can't hit, my RPs are collecting a check and not working. So, we may have to force HAL to lay someone off to keep the other RPs on edge.

Chit Doesn't Happen!

Postby Semper Gumby » Wed Jun 21, 2006 5:37 pm

Obviously, chit doesn't happen or else my team batting average would be higher than my pitchers' WHIPs.
