After going down 3 games to 1, Kevin's team has come back to even the series. Game 6 was a heartbreaker for me. I took a 2-to-1 lead into the 9th, only to have Corbertt (who was lights out for me all year) melt down, giving up 7 runs in the top of the 9th.

So, Kevin goes for what I believe is his first championship tomorrow. I really needed to win either game 5 (with Viola starting) or game 6 (with Scott starting), because the pitching matchup for game 7 will be Allan Anderson (for me) vs. (probably) Orel Hershisher. I like his odds.

But then again, that injury to Oquendo is going to hurt Mr. Matchstick a bit...only other rated SS's available on his roster are Remy (leaving Samuel at 2B) or Dw. Murphy. We might see how important D can be in the 80s!

Anderson gave it shot, but came up short.

Congratulations to Matchstick on winning bracket 1. Was that the first championship, Matchstick?

Actually it was my first championship. Thanks. I wonder if I will be the only round 1 champion to not make round 3. I think you will have many opportunities for revenge in our division for round 2.
I know Hersheiser and Fernando are overpriced but if you get some of their good years....
My main offense came from Darrell Evans who I got on waivers and I got him on waivers again in round 2 so maybe Ill get lucky. Nevertheless, considering I still dont have a CF, I maybe should have taken Dawson over him. Time will tell.
