Well this one kind of makes last week's 5-homer game by A-Rod feel a little bit sheepish. I wanted to go a different direction for this week, but that wouldn't be doing this new record-breaking explosion justice.

Carolina Dirty Sox designated hitter Tony Clark had, quite seriously, the best offensive game in the history of this or any other universe by smashing SIX (6, VI, seis, zes, sechs, sei) HOMERUNS in a 12-inning, come-from-behind, 12-10 victory over the hosting Chum Buckets. Imagine how electrified a crowd gets on a slugger's 3rd at-bat when he'd homered in his first 2 times at the plate... now imagine that ratcheted up [i:5dddd5dba4]four more times[/i:5dddd5dba4], [i:5dddd5dba4][b:5dddd5dba4]with him delivering each time[/b:5dddd5dba4][/i:5dddd5dba4], and then cap it off with a 2-out, 2-on, down-by-one, bottom of the 12th WALKOFF as the record-breaking 6th and final blast. Unreal.

16 innings and only one earned run. Score was 0-0 after 15. Francouer's two errors in 16th lead to loss.

4-run ninth inning rally on just one hit to force extras

Postby teepack » Wed Jun 14, 2006 1:13 pm

Down 10-6 in the bottom of the 9th, I rallied for four runs one just one hit to force extras, then won in the 10th on a wild pitch!

Stole home once on delayed steal. Set up another run on a single, SB, intentional walk, SB, intentional walk, and then groundball error.[/b]

23 Innings!!!

In the 3rd game of the seaon, Charleston Cheifs and the Paw Paw Smurfs battled in a 23 inning affair. The Cheifs outlasted the Smurfs 4-2, pounding out 23 hits against 20 hits for the Smurfs. Gustavo Chacin(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings, oh by the way he is scheduled to start the first game of the next series.
