EAST
[b:edab562db3]UglyJerry and his Arlington based Barely Surviving[/b:edab562db3] team look to be be the slammers of the division. With Parrich (C), Joyner (1B), Grich (2b), Rikpen (SS), Johnson (3B), Guerrero (LF), Lemon (CF), Cruz (RF) and Tartabull (DH) there is not a power shortage anywhere in the lineup. In fact all of the starting 9 could find themselves with 25 or more homers by seaosn end.
Of cource all this power comes with a price and that price is a big gamble on pitching.
T[b:edab562db3]ooBig is planing his Kings County Warriors in the Astrodome [/b:edab562db3]with strong pitching (Boston #21, Black, Browning and Liebrandt, W Hernandez) and plenty of OBA guys (K Hernandez, Rose, Kruk and Randloph), defense (Hernandez, Randloph, Cincinnati #11, W Wilson) and steady power up and down the lineup. The pitching will keep them in the game, but can they win in Arlington?
[b:edab562db3]Hechojazz's Freddie Freeloaders look like they'll be keeping the Dodger Stadium[/b:edab562db3] crowd happy with solid starters (El Sid, Ojeda, Dravecky) and Relief (Righetti and Reardon) and taking a page from Sparky Anderson book playing it very strong up the middle with Trammell. Whitaker and Puckett. Fill the line up out with Hrbek, Downing, Gibson and Barfield and there doesn't appear to be a weakness in this team.
Rounding out the east is my own [b:edab562db3]Olympic Stadium based Sinister Footwear II[/b:edab562db3]. Going with a pitching and defense team the Footwear sport a rotation of Higuera, Valenzula, Martinez and Stieb with Sutter and Lavelle in the pen. The hitting took on the twist of fielding a line up with 7 switch hitters, Simmons, Murray, Doran, Fernandez, Raines, Pettis and Bonilla. "We'll see how it goes." said YountFan.
Conclusions
1. Lots of lefty starters
2. Anyone can win the division
