Coach if anyone can pull it off you can, but in all honesty, yuk!

Have fun with it and prove me wrong (wouldn't be the 1st time)

I tried that once - it was a painful experience. We'd get lots of hits, but few runs. The next thing you know, their starting pitcher is pulled and all of our men are on the wrong side of the plate.

I only last two weeks before completely rebuilding the team.

I hope it works better for you - send updates.

Coach I think you have done the one excellent thing for a platoon team and that is to get 16 regular players.

A few ideas:
I would suggest however that you need to get some great defensive players mixed in there. I would take Clemente as a RF vs lefties. That will allow you to bring him in as a defensive sub against righties when McBride is playing. Likewise Geronimo for CF with Chet Lemon. For 2B I would go with Doyle to give you a legit leadoff hitter and offset with Tommy Herr. For Shortstop I'd take the errors and go for Bush and Wills. If money is needed I'd risk Nipper for Konstancy with Pete and Mordecai on the hill with Giusti and Martinez. Just run a pitcher between the 2 so HAL gives a lot of complete games to those 2.

Good luck,
Charlie

I have never had the guts to try an all-platoon team. However, the few that have spoken to me about it who HAVE tried weren't happy with the experience. Good luck with the attempt!

As long as you can push a couple of runs across, your pitching should be able to carry you in Griff. I like three $2M+ relievers. They'll be key to keeping it close in late innings. What are the other stadiums in the division? What are your lineup plans?

My 1st platooned position on a team is... interesting...
My 2nd platooned position on a team is... only out of necessity
My 3rd platooned position on a team is... just plain crazy!

Best of luck, please keep us "post"ed...

One person I love to platoon is Ray Knight. He eats up left handers in normal situations and eats up all pitchers in clutch situations. (He's more than once hit more RBIs than his left handed partner.) Downside is he's not great at defense and slow as molasses. Still, it's fun to see him leading the league in batting avg vs left handers....

Good luck and let us know how the platoon goes.

League has a lot of pitchers parks, my division is all pitchers parks.

Over the course of the season, my BP HR's will average just under 3 per game, so it's like I'm playing my season in Royals Stadium.

Charlie, I like some of your suggestions and will check out the $$$$ feasibility.

And I thought about Knight long and hard, but love Prothro's numbers, he has always hit around .400 for my vs. LHP's and he's got some speed and a + clutch too.

This same happened to me...score 4 runs early, SP pulled for an opposite hander, and I end the game with 5 runs. The best luck I had was when I had all my lefty killers as avoid righties, but leave my righty killers with no card markings.
