as of June 21st, 2006 (12:37 EST).

This is an [b:faba2ee00b]U[/b:faba2ee00b]nlimted [b:faba2ee00b]S[/b:faba2ee00b]alary [b:faba2ee00b]K[/b:faba2ee00b]eeper [b:faba2ee00b]L[/b:faba2ee00b]eague whose goal is to imitate as closely as possibe what it's like to be a GM/Owner of a real MLB baseball team.

In doing this (ie; [i:faba2ee00b][b:faba2ee00b]The Ten Commandments[/b:faba2ee00b][/i:faba2ee00b]):

[b:faba2ee00b]1.[/b:faba2ee00b] [b:faba2ee00b]Teams will be comprised of 40 man rosters. [/b:faba2ee00b] The 40 man size must be maintained at all times.

[b:faba2ee00b]2.[/b:faba2ee00b] We will play [b:faba2ee00b]two seasons for each carded year[/b:faba2ee00b].

[b:faba2ee00b]3.[/b:faba2ee00b] Your playing team [b:faba2ee00b]must maintain a 25 man roster [/b:faba2ee00b]at all times. [b:faba2ee00b]You make as many moves up and down off that 25 man roster that you can afford[/b:faba2ee00b] in a given year, [b:faba2ee00b]provided that you always maintain the 25 man roster size.[/b:faba2ee00b]

[b:faba2ee00b]4.[/b:faba2ee00b] [b:faba2ee00b]After Game 132[/b:faba2ee00b], (to make this the same point in time as the other Keeper League so that there is no confusion. It also imitates a true month of roster expansion), [b:faba2ee00b]you may add up to 3 additional players [/b:faba2ee00b]to your playing team for the end of that season's play.

[b:faba2ee00b]5.[/b:faba2ee00b] [b:faba2ee00b]Between Season One and Season Two [/b:faba2ee00b]of a carded year there will be a [b:faba2ee00b]3 Round Supplemental Draft [/b:faba2ee00b]in which any available player left over from the Free Agent Draft at the start of the year is eligible to be now taken. Before entering the Supplemental Draft, a team must drop as many players that it wishes to redraft (up to 3) prior to the start of the Supplemental Draft, and these players are eligible then to be drafted as well.

[b:faba2ee00b]6.[/b:faba2ee00b] After our first season of play in a given year, [b:faba2ee00b]the Divisions will be realigned for the following season (AND the ORDER OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT) based on the Win/Loss pct. of the prior season[/b:faba2ee00b]. Any ties will be broken by; 1. Head to Head results and if need be; 2. Greatest positive RS-RA differential. The league will be formed such that the EAST will be teams 1-4, the CENTRAL 5-8 and the WEST 9-12.

[b:faba2ee00b]7.[/b:faba2ee00b] [b:faba2ee00b]Heading into the start of a NEW YEAR -- the Divisions (AND the FREE AGENT DRAFT ORDER) will be in order of the previous year's total combined standings.[/b:faba2ee00b] Any ties will be broken by; 1. Head to Head results and if need be; 2. Greatest positive RS-RA differential. The league will be formed such that the EAST will be teams 1-4, the CENTRAL 5-8 and the WEST 9-12.

[b:faba2ee00b]8.[/b:faba2ee00b] The [b:faba2ee00b]Players eligible for the Free Agent Draft [/b:faba2ee00b]at the start of a year (and the subsequent Supplemental Draft later in the year) are [b:faba2ee00b]any player who played in the Major Leagues in the prior season[/b:faba2ee00b]. This includes any hitter with at least one PA any pitcher with at least one batter faced.

[b:faba2ee00b]9.[/b:faba2ee00b] [b:faba2ee00b]Preceding the Free Agent Draft at the start of a year, all teams must release a MINIMUM of 5 players up to a MAXIMUM of 15 players that they wish to exchange out for the purpose of redrafting.[/b:faba2ee00b] The players MUST be released prior to the start of the Free Agent Draft and will be eligible to be redrafted (provided that they played in the Major Leagues in the previous season).

[b:faba2ee00b]10.[/b:faba2ee00b] [b:faba2ee00b]At the start of each season of play you may choose to stay in the park you just played in, or choose to play in another park.[/b:faba2ee00b] You will be required to announce your decision prior to the start of either the upcoming Supplemental or Free Agent Drafts and a subsequent Stadium draft will ensue for those teams wishing to switch, run in the SAME ORDER as the upcoming player draft.

Note to all -- please look these over and let me know if there is anything I left out. I want this list to be as comprehensive as possible so there is NO MORE frustration or confusion whatsoever.

My goal is to to have this league be competively fun forever . :D

I have pretty much decided to scrap almost all of my other SOM committments so I can focus all my attention on these leagues and the running/upkeep of them.

That's how much I believe it is the perfect blend between Fantasy Baseball and Som and how committed I am to its success.

Meanwhile, I bumped up the Current Rosters and Free Agent list since we are past the midway point now and the Supplemental Draft is looming.

I am only in season 2 of my 10 year plan so all I have to do in the next couple of seasons is draft anyone who can either field, pitch or hit and we will be well on our way to a sub 100 loss season  .I am following the K.C Royals blueprint and I have executed it to perfection so far

I'd like to take credit for Pacific Alliance successes, but qk has really done a great job ere. I share his views on flexibility here and welcome the new Final Rules. Great work.

There was a lot of other stuff posted on the last page so if you have the time check it out. I realize that is how somethings get missed at times which is why I wanted to get a hard copy of our rules down so that we all may move forward together.

I would like to propose that we come to some kind of compromise on roster movement. While I understood that our salary cap essentially allowed us unlimited movement between the 25 and 40 man rosters, I felt that my moves were primarily injury related. Those personel moves I made for performance, to the best of my recollection, were few. I definitely did not feel that match up roster moves were to be encouraged.

That being said, I also agree with Qk in that the actual MLB GM aspects of the league are what I enjoy the most. Unlike MLB, this league has no penalty on roster movements from the 25 to the 40, primarily in regards the number of times a single player can be moved from one to the other. MLB rules allow a few free moves at the outset of a career, then a waiver system comes into play.

Perhaps we can investigate some type of waiver system as well to keep the roster moves to the minimum once the season begins, excepting the true "disabled list" type transactions. I agree that it might become a nightmare to monitor any "waiver" system - so it would have to be done on a honor system.

Thoughts?
