just a few facts i read upon earlier today and i thought i,d share them with you.
i,ll start it off with 1 from our very beloved cal ripken,

1.how many major leaguers went on the disabled list during cal,s famous consecutive games played streak ?
hint: it was 16 years of over 200 per season...(and to think he didn,t miss not 1 game.....)

2.who was the only major leaguer killed during a game ?
hint:( the year was 1920)

3.who had the distinction of scoring baseballs- 1 millionth run ?
hint: the year was 1975 and he played for the houston astros.

well there,s 3 little trivia questions just to get your mind thinking of something else besides beating 1 of my teams tonight......

oh yeah,here,s 1 i forgot about, jim palmer never gave up a major league grand slam---got that 1 the other night from my son,s cracker jack prize...

2. Rex Chapman
3. Bob Watson. If I remember correctly, he edged out Dave Concepcion who had hit a HR(in another game) and was sprinting around the bases to pass Watson. Watson's teammates yelled to him to run faster and he just beat Concepcion.
The really sad thing is that I didnt look these up. It's just sad the crap I remember......Thanks Cross, now I'm depressed.... :P

Actually i,ve got a bathroom reader my wife got me and it,s full of all kinds of stuff that is interesting that keeps me intellectually sharp(not) but it does give me something to do during my down time.....

Bob Watson's other claim to fame for me is that he's the Astro in The Bad News Bears In Breaking Training who says, "hey, let 'em play" while Tanner is refusing to leave the field. The Bears' coach (William Deveney in an army jacket) picks up Watson's phrase and runs with it, starting a "let them play" chant that finally allows the game to resume, the Bears then staging a dramatic comeback. Now, my question to all of you is: who scores the winning run for the Bears? (give both character name and actor for full credit)
