I think what Roofinghorse may be referring to is: what happens if he sets his proxies up and turns them on and goes to work and then the person in front of him, either LM or Mike goes over the two hour limit. His proxies do not fire and then he goes over the two hour limit. Can the person after him then skip both Roofinghorse and the other person?

I think that if Mike or LM went over the limit the only person that could get the draft moving again would be Roofinghorse so he couldn't be skipped because his proxies didn't fire. I could be wrong though.

In any case if you are skipped because you ran out of proxies then you can go in and make your skipped picks at any time.

Parkav, I can assist you in making picks or setting proxies but I would have to have your ID to do that. Hopefully you will be able to get your system fixed soon or find some other computor that will work for you.

I don't know if Penn's site will allow someone to pick if two managers in front of them have both gone over their limit. My guess is that it will not allow it because it is showing that the first person is still up (though past time) I don't think it atarts calculating the second person's time.

Anyway, I think it is good draft policy that if someone's time runs out and then the next person's time runs out, that the next person does not attempt to pick. If someone has set proxies, they should not be penalized because the person in front of them ran over time.

That said, I would suggest to anyone who doesn't have access to the draft site to check in on the boards in case your proxies need firing, as a couple of managers have done in this draft. Of course, if you are at work without computer access or attending to importnat matters, than so be it, the rest of us can wait.

LOL--Proxy nightmare

Postby KEVINEHLE » Sun Jun 25, 2006 9:10 pm

OK. I keyed in 100 proxies but apparently, I must have keyed in something wrong. I have apparently chosen 4 Starting Pitchers in my first 4 picks. Perhaps that is a coincidence or I used the proxy system incorrectly. I guess I am going to field a pitching dominated team!!!! :(

I am going to disable my proxies and start drafting "live"!! 8)

I'm back. It was a big day and tomorrow will be about the same.

Yikes Kev...I was wondering what the deal was with the 4 stud starters. However, I was in a live draft once with Sykes (like the top or very close to top 80's manager) and his first 10 picks were pitchers. So even though it happened accidentally, it isn't a nightmare.

I've only seen a manager skipped once in a live draft, and the next guy to pick gave him an extra 1/2 hour out of consideration. Hopefully it isn't a problem. As far as proxies...leave the round at 0 and simply put players in order that you would like them. 4-6 players should be a good starting point depending how close to the pick you are.

Let's see how it goes tomorrow. If it's a problem or there's computer access problems still...post it on this thread. I know a lot of the guys here and the ones I don't know hopefully feel the same way...this is for fun and nobody should get burned.
