Don't Put Off What Chit Needs to be Done Today

Postby Semper Gumby » Sat Jun 24, 2006 4:46 pm

Plop, plop, splash.

Burris and Lopez got dropped off at the blue water pool this evening.

I hope they can swim

I'm sure someone will rescue them and find them just dandy.

I was hoping that Roger Clemens would have given Steve Comer a little better run for his money for the Cy Young award so far.

It's rigged

Besides we need to keep those $.75m players in the mix or else they'll go on strike!

How about a little chatter from this league?

Sent the Chit boys into Jablomi world last night and stole a few games from the top seeded team with Luz doing his best to keeping his job. Should have had two more CGs but HAL wanted to work the bullpen some more since we tossed Lopez and Burris over the poop rail.

Honey tossed a fine game against Jab's guys even though his team has been tough vs. LHPs.

Still unsure about Rice's card - smelling bad even though he did a solid job against LHSPs and raised his average some.

Fast & Furious Flushing Fest

Postby JIMDAKE » Sun Jun 25, 2006 12:19 pm

Looks like nothing else to do in the rain this weekend but flush players thru and out!
-- Willie Fraser has been consigned to the dung heap after a series of pathetic performance, including losing a 2-1 game for Guidry in the 10th. Hal just loves bringing in the crappy guys when rested guys with some good potential & performances (Carmen, Reardon) are sitting in the pen playing Strat. Neil Allen gets an audition next. (Question, do any of you think Hal is using the logic from the CD game that tries to replicate the mix of IP over a season? I've seen lots of bullpen commentary in the threads but not that approach).
-- Would SOMEBODY step up to the plate and show some power, PLEASE???? Geez, I'm playing 'Roads in Kingdome tonight, somebody better learn how to jack it. At .212 overall it's a bloomin' miracle I've got 7 wins (all but 1 of them by a single run).
-- Good news, Roads, you get 0-4 Gooden tonight. (I'll take trade ideas if someone would like to try him in different scenery. I got 21 wins and a couple of big postseason performances out of his '90 card in round 1, guess my expectations are high! Maybe the Doc's not high enough??).
-- Jablowmi, everybody you traded me was CR*P!! Bad injury reveal from Hayes and no love from anyone else.
There, now I feel better..

SOM Pitching Logic

Postby Semper Gumby » Sun Jun 25, 2006 3:56 pm

After smelling a smoldering 'turd due to the postings, TSN did a public tap dance on a "pitching logic" [i:7baa374a72]beta[/i:7baa374a72] test in mid-May and never finished it (stopped after 24 games). Not sure why - maybe TSN is working on the next 80s release

So, we'll never know

What I do know is TSN's relief strategy settings aren't what they pretend to be, i.e., conservative relief = CD-ROM normal relief. As such, if you want your starters to go longer - you'll need to monkey with the manager strategy and individual settings yourself to get the right mix.

Otherwise, [b:7baa374a72]I long suspected that HAL liked to get the right inning mix [/b:7baa374a72]based on actual seasons despite the general setting to ignore overusage, in general.

Beyond that - CHIT HAPPENS.

don,t worry MRMS1970

We have a way of making ALL teams look good....but tell doc if he follows thru with his current numbers that the after party is at the hyatt downtown, up in room DOC-0 and 5.....his goodies will be awaiting him.....

aside from that your boys look like they,ve been waitin for a lefty pitchin staff like mine....them guys are lying in waiting..and i think i,ve still got some house cleaning to do soon.

i think singleton got his whopping 2 RBI,S on walks.we already dropped molitor, dawson, niekro and traded andu ina jar whom was cut after 1 start....
this team has still got a long way to go if we,re gonna try and advance.i,ve only had 2 teams play in the kingdome. 1 was a theme league where everybody had the dome (70-92) and the other was early in my strat career (69-91) so i,ll keep flushing out the slop and keep my fingers crossed.
being the only k-dome team has me worried a little...hell,there,s only 1 wrigley and the rest are mid ranged offensive parks down to hitters' paradise'.....
but to tell you the truth, this tournament has got me more concentrated on my team more than any of the previous just as probably everybody does too.
but i played a hunch and had a plan from the get go so we,ll see how i fare in THE DOME.......
Slug out.

Panzers 17-4 team is coming to town

Postby roofinghorse » Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:29 am

what,s he got ---48 dingers in 21 games.good gosh.i suspect he,ll add to that total a "littlle bit" tonight in the dome...
langston will be making his 3rd start in the dome where it looks like batting practice to everybody.the outfield bleachers are sold out in expectation of someone catching the record breaking HR ball popped over the fence....
but don,t worry. we,ll show up.
now where,s them papers with the "plan "on it....

Piss Test

Postby Semper Gumby » Mon Jun 26, 2006 10:15 am

Time for a drug test on some teams and maybe Strawberry can help out the other teams needing a little more zing in the swing.

Sorry, to see Al Davis hit the bottom of the port-a-john this morning. I had high hopes for him given Rice's disappearing routine. Can't I just force HAL to hurt Rice?

It would make life easier for me as his card smells like his middle years but is performing like that 5th season or possibly his hidden 6th season.

Never used Steve Kemp's card before and wondered why he became available with only light abuse on his card / uninjured.

Nice to see Hrbek's card coming around with two HRs over the past few days and Strawberry's hitting LHPs better than RHPs  .
