4 LHP's in starting rotation?

4 LHP's in starting rotation?

Postby sleepdok » Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:26 am

Has anyone ever won with 4 out of 5 SP's as left handers?

It seems most of my division rivals have put together teams that do better vs. RHP.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Count up ALL of the lefty batters on each team, in your division.

If there are 5 or more on EACH team, give it a try. Chance are there are not. Righty batters tend to hit LH's better, and unless you're playing in Safeco, I wouldn't do it.

I'm starting a Safeco team tonight with 3 of 4 starters lefty. Set up guy is a righty, hopefully to counteract the stacked lineups. Lefty closer.

I'll let you know in a few weeks if it's working or not. :D

Doesn't matter.

How many lefty batters will you see?

Lefties are generally tougher on lefties and righties are generally tougher on righties. If you are going to face more righty bats than lefty bats, you will get lit up.

Not easily done in the 06 set. Had 4/4 LH's a few times in the 05 set in Safeco and Shea with great success.

But with 3 of 4 Lefthanded *starters (and Escobar spot starting against 3 teams which are loaded with righthanders). I'm 3 games up in a very competitive division where the last place teamis playing at a .471 pct.
In my league, it's working well, and I'm confident I'll win the division. It all depends on the rest of the league, and you really need an 'Escobar' type, since every league will have at least a few heavy righthanded type lineups who you can lesson your chances of being dominated by.

My starters records are mediocre yet their ERA's are low and usually keep my team in every game, and I have a strong bullpen. My team is 2nd in ERA. Check the HR differential between what the team hits and how many the pitching allows.

I'm using 3 LH starters in PNC and doing pretty well. Chickened out on using 4, and lackey my 4th starter is the weak link. Other stadiums in the division are McAfee, Fenway and US cell
