One owner with 2 teams in one league???

Postby Moodymets » Tue Jun 27, 2006 3:08 pm

I signed up in an auto league - TSN_14303 - and we're waiting to have two more fill. But in looking over teams already signed up, there is a "Brooklyn Brawlers" and a "Brooklyn Brawlers II" (!)... I don't think someone's trying to pull one over on us all because if they were they wouldn't be so obvious about it, but just the same... HUH???

Advice as to how to about finding out more? :?: :?: :?:

Send a message to Bernie, asking about that. Doesn't really pass the "sniff test" to own two teams in the same league. But if those teams never trade together, I suppose no prejudice can be shown. Of course, if the more successful of the two teams always manages to face the other team's dregs pitchers, maybe a group of bad .75 SPs only used against the co-owned team, that would be an issue too...particularly if both Brawlers teams are in the same division!

Let us know how this one works out...

I sent an e-mail to each basically asking, "are you one and the same owner or related to each other?"

One owner replied,"all my teams are brooklyn what ever. i've been using brooklyn brawers since the football league. i don't know the other mgr. rest assure, there is no connection."

The other (the first of the teams to enter) replied "I hadn't even noticed. This is my first '80's team, and my only one...
There must be another Brooklynite here!"

I'm inclined to believe them (I'm a trusting soul 8) ) and we'll see how it plays out as the season goes on. It was worth looking into, but it seems benign enough. I'll obviously alert folks on this link if that changes.

You can see all the teams a manager has had by typing clicking on "Your Other Teams." then typing in ?user_id=xxxxxx, where the xxxxxx part is the user id for one of the brawlers teams. Then hit the "go to" button on your browser.

brooklyn brawlers

would you not think that stratomatic is based out of ny, and that there are millions of people living in brooklyn alone. that there would be 10 teams named brawlers, everyone trys to pick a name that rymes with there city.
