I believe once Rickey stops referring to himself in the "first person" and switches back to the "third person" - he'll be fine.

I sense he is trying to hard to sound perfect around the media and just needs to be Rickey.

Well...after my guys have gotten smacked around by the rest of the league, my team is the one that ends up handing Panzer's team their first losing series....he aint so tough. :D

Now he's back on the market if anyone wants to take a bigger gamble, and I picked up Armas so worst case I get the same level of mediocrity, but for pennies on the dollar. Minimal card reads over here except for Gerald Young's best year....(which I also had in Round 1 except he hit .175 most of the season and didn't reveal until the end).

Boy I'm getting sick of getting shut out with a .300 obp. Toby and Von Hayes were supposed to take care of that, but nooooooooooooo. So trade ideas that will help the Ankle Biters score some more runs are welcomed.

It's looking like a season-long battle royale for 8th place around here...

everybody is beating up on the west...not 1 team here out scoring their opponets.
but we had a closed door meeting and things are gonna change around here.there will be no more beating up on the west.we,ve made our moves and things are changing as we speak..............

you beat the living hell out of langston. but sutcliffe and show? show? have put together back to back nice games in the dome and hopefully they will be the anchor this ship needs.(we all know where 2 game streaks can go)and did i say hopefully?yep, i did.ok

ryno is starting to come around,and seitzer is playing steady after giving molitor an overdose of ex-lax.and carter is moving along smoothly mostly holding down 1B and we,re playing around with our catching.burleson is steady at SS but not to much on the offensive side of things.
and reggie and singleton make up the most expensive platoon in the league but they,re getting it done for now,so all in all we,re coming around after getting smacked around by you fella,s in the east and central.

but even after all this yackin we probably will still be in the battle for spot number 8 after it,s all said and done...

You're in 1st. Remember all playoff teams move on so you can get to the third round at .500 in the west.

Based on the brackets, the West ought to be the dogfight since the teams' owners' rankings placed them closer together (not sure TSN's system is worth a hoot).

So, I expected the West to kick the crap out of each other and then feast on the lower rung slugs in the East and Central.

As for my cards, I found [b:382ef2eeef]Fisk[/b:382ef2eeef] pulling his no BA all HR season (my second Fisk revealed season out of two ownerships).

[b:382ef2eeef]Rice[/b:382ef2eeef] still playing his hidden 6th season but doesn't seem to be tracking his 1988 season for now as he can hit HRs against both sides of the rubber. I'm guessing his 4th season (.305 BA / 1L balance).

[b:382ef2eeef]Dawson[/b:382ef2eeef] has a little streak going here and his 1984 card like performance days might be behind him now.

My RPs are a strange lot with [b:382ef2eeef]Parrett [/b:382ef2eeef]playing above his cards. Fortunately, my SPs lead the league in complete games so my bullpen can keep the gas cans @ the ready but never opened. :shock:

Every series I've had, the team that wins the 1st game either goes on to sweep or loses the the next two.

I love playing the game with HAL to see who he'll start given an unfinished lineup. When Stearns went down I picked up two catchers that should hit lefties well, Wockenfuss and Sundberg, and didn't put in a catcher vs. left-handers. Who does HAL start? Larry Sheets :!: Now I can understand if I have Sheets 87 card but right now he's hitting less than .100 vs. lefties. Based on injury I either have the 87 or 86 card. Leaning toward the 86 based on performance and a foulout. What could it be?

I can appreciate HAL's one-size-screws-all programming logic but this comes close to watching former Cleveland Indian Manny Ramirez run through many of a third base coach's "STOP" sign.
