Won a key 2 of 3 vs. Genuine Risk to take a 2 game lead for the Wild Card ... only 2 games out of 1st.

Parker has another strong night last night - but still no fans on the MVP Balloting ... that is alright - just keeps him motivated. ;)

Sandberg & Eckersley, respectively, are slowly climbing up the MVP & CY Young polls though.

After a couple of off-nights won a critical 2 of 3 to stay tied for the WC, and remain 3 games back with 12 to go ... looks like it might go down to the wire!

Looks like Sykes will win the division. It also looks like the MVP voters have been quite well compensated by Sykes ... :P

I'm still disappointed that Dave Parker isnt getting MVP votes - especially considering he has a better RC/27 than any of the 3 Options players, and more Runs, RBIs, & TB than any of them.

Division and votes aside, it's all for nothing unless I can at least squeeze a credit out of this. I'm on quite a roll right now across SOM, but wish my 80's teams would get out of the first round.

Been busy at work, and thus quiet on the boards. Glad to see the press has still been paid well by the Hoboken front office though. Here's hoping the umps have received their checks too. :wink:

Don't feel too bad, there are a lot of us wishing our 80's teams could get into the first round....

Getting swept last night by the Brew has pretty much quashed any Risk hope of making the playoffs. We would need to sweep AT tonight at our house, and we can't win at home.

I blame the lost season on substandard management! :oops:

I've been in situations before where I needed just 1 win on the final night to make the playoffs and got swept so I am definitely not thinking this one is in the bag. That series win last night was definitely huge though and with my best 3 SP on the mound tonight hopefully I'll be able to steal at least 1 win to clinch the Wild Card.

I' was pretty sure I' was going to go with D. Parker as my team MVP but then he blew a perfectly good chance to show the Options how good he was and fizzled. We still won 2 of 3 despite an off night by Parker so now I'm giving more consideration to Sandberg, and perhaps one of the SPs could nab the MVP as well as team CY Young.

Congratulations to Cubs48 & Sykes on advancing to the Finals.

I'll start setting up Season III a couple of days after the Finals conclude - since that will finish to determine which owner gets which team.
