I agree---irritating as heck...Doesn't take much to hit the decline option...I have occasionally offered a deal that I know will not go through for salary reasons etc., but I always add a comment with something like "Let me know if you want this deal and I'll drop some salary" or something to that effect....Most will respond to that....There are alot of guys out there though that will not respond at all unless they are interested....
I have also had this scenerio happen several times....I make an offer...He counters and I decline the counter, and he immediately accepts the initial offer....Which I guess is ok since I made the offer to start with....I consider this just a manager trying to make the deal a little sweeter for himself..
The worst though is to make a legit offer and get no response whatsoever...At least have the deciency to decline or send a quick note saying not interested or going in another direction on a different trade....After I have seen an offer is read I will usually give the guy a few hours then I wil resind at that time and from that point forward will not do ANY transactions with that manager....I wouldn't care if he offered Pujols for Brazelton---I would not respond.
