Baseball will humble you and so will TSN. I have six teams(3 current).My first team was all pitching,speed and defense with Hank Aaron in the middle finished last(lesson learned,you need balance).My second team an 80's team was half pitching/half hitting/average speed/good defense/wrong park/i finished 3rd 1 game from second a lot of games out of first. My third team ATGII good pitching w/1 stud, goodhitting with good not great power/great defense with the exception of one position but a great hitter there with a stud defender to play defense in the late innings/the right park/i just won my division. My other teams are playing 1 is in second the other is in last but is starting to come around. Getting the snot beat out of you is not fun,but learn why and adjust. One of the earliest pieces of advice i got was to learn to "game the game. But this is baseball anything can happen,remember the '88 Dodgers beat the 'A's 4 games to 1. The '60. Pirates got their rears kicked and i mean kicked 3 times,but still managed to win 4 games in the series.

I think the beginner's league may be a good thing. It will most likely not happen, though. Perhaps, instead they could have a primer of sorts, or maybe a simulation for people new to the game. I had never played Strat before and picked up Greenberg for his fielding.

Yeah, that looks good to me.

The instructional text they have now is damned near incomprehensible for people who just don't care to spend hours learning to read the cards. Maybe TSN could come off some dough and buy Diamonddope and make it part of their site.

DiamondDope seems to work just fine , would you really want TSN/SOM in charge of it ? Links to it would be nice though . :D

Ha ha. let me get this straight.
Life is hard, so I should pay 25 bones extra, at a fantasy site to re-live the experience that I can get by going outside, "to the streets".

Let me ask this, what happened to kids on the block who bragged about their current win streak in fantasy baseball.

Don't get me wrong, I get better at things win I play people better than me. I get what you are saying on that score; and I agree.

I'm sure their are plenty of guys on this site who can hold their own and then some, but I wouldn't exactly say that this game is conducive to winning any "tough man" competitions.

I guess I am a new sheep having ten teams now and paying my dues :cry:three last place, three third and one second no playoffs. I can tell you I am hooked and not to change anything, as I am improving and now with four teams active am actually competitve in three leagues. I enjoy going up against the best am am learning from them by observing how they run their teams.

I've heard good arguments, but why not simply make "new sheep" leagues OPTIONAL? What's wrong with that?
